“Let’s Rock” backed with “Love Rap” by The Harlem World Crew was released on Tayster Records in 1980. The six members of The Harlem World Crew were Charlie Rock (Charles Leake), Son of Sam (Sam Blocker), DJ Randy (Randy Sanders), DJ Kool D (Darryl Brown), Dr. Jeckyl (Andre Harrell) and Mr. Hyde (Alonzo Brown). Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde went out on their own in the early 80s, and released some big hits including “Genius Rap,” “Fast Life” and “AM:PM.” In 1986 Andre Harrell started Uptown Records, which became one of the biggest R&B labels of all time and was one of the first to kick off the new jack swing craze in the late 80s with bands like Guy, Heavy D & The Boys, & Father MC. He eventually became the head of Motown Records in 1995, among many other successful ventures including producing movies and creating TV programs.
