***Lovesick is a sad, romantic journey through a beautiful waking dream. It’s both the dark end of the street, and the promise of a stunning sunset. It’s the gut-wrenching feeling when you know that your love won’t last forever. It’s the song of the mourning dove—beautiful, somber, and resigned to a future of longing. Capturing the magic of Lovesick brought AVIVA and her talented band of friends up to the rolling, oak-studded hills of Mendocino, CA. Four hot summer days and nights were spent digging into the dry Northern California grasslands, and seeking refuge from the sun to make music inside a traditionally hand-built Japanese Shinto cabin. Inside those handmade walls, Lovesick was born: an album of dreamy, lonesome, soulful anthems made for nights by a fireplace, days in the breaking fog, and people willing to feel the depths of heartache.
