Constructed by using single notes to suggest its melodies, Loving Off The Land is an album lush in arrangement and sprinkled with instrumentals. With reoccurring themes and linear structure, it is an album whose complex form is a direct result of its simplicity. Chris orchestrated this record around his time spent writing and recording material for his band The Impossible Shapes. Laughter Fills Our Hollow Dome, the new record from the Shapes, will be released on the same day as this solo record. Many folks are looking to 'Laughter Fills...' as being THE record to own in 2002. We are happy to announce that 'Loving' and 'Laughter' are a nice pair. "Loving Off The Land" is an enchanting story told through these eighteen tracks. Each song acting as a key chapter, great when read on their own-perfect when pieced together. It is an album about Love, because really what else is there? This is Chris Barth's first solo record.
