THE ROAMIN' CATHOLICS are a band you wouldn't have heard of unless you were at one of seven moderately attended shows in Sydney circa 2014. Luckily the members of this band have quite a resume, an Australian supergroup starring LINCOLN BROWN (GHASTLY SPATS, HOUSEWIVES), ELA STILES (THE RANGOONS, SONGS, BUSHWALKING), TRISTAN PRICE (ANGIE BAND, DRY FINISH), LUKE PALMER (GOD K, INGREDIENT), and LIAM KENNY (BITCH PREFECT, WHITE MAN IS THE OPPRESSOR, TWIN PEAKS). They also recorded some excellent, awkward, cynical post-punk songs about shitty jobs in bourgeoise organic supermarkets and the weariness of life going against the grain. Their overall sound falls somewhere between The Fall, Brisbane's Kitchen's Floor, Raincoats and Half Japanese. Vitriolic rants, dueling guitars and a pulsing rhythm section with a guest appearance from punk's least utilized instruments, the flute.
