***ANIMAL PISS, IT'S EVERYWHERE started in 2018 when Clark Griffin and Shannon Ketch started writing songs about cheap wine, themes on Jesus, tributes to bands like the Fugs and Boa Constrictor and the Natural Vine.

A tape was released by Tony Pasquarosa's 4th Eye Musick that circulated among hardcore scene ramblers and record heads across the US. It seemed like interest was growing, so Griffin and Ketch started to ask the hot players around Western Mass and New York if they wanted to lend a hand and the band then started with members of Rhyton, Pigeons, Bunwinkies, Gluebag, Wet Tuna, Salvation Alley Band and BLAMMO!

Soon enough, in 2022, they decided to record their first record with Mike Fellows behind the board. That record came out on the Half A Million label in late summer 2023 and sold out quickly, so they put together short tours where songs like 'Hot Sewage,' 'Naked' and 'Pink Dolphin' seemed to get people off their feet and out their minds.

Then they decided "well, fuck it, let's record a second record!" This one, to be titled "Grace," had some beach'ier vibes while poking a little more at class warfare; Mike Fellows engineering again. It came out dual-released on Half A Million and Sophomore Lounge. 'The Beach Song' and 'Pay The Dues' got people up and bobbing at shows yet again, Tony Pasquarosa throwing himself all over the stage and Clark Griffin looking like a crazed wildebeest with a pair of maracas. It was fun!

So now, they decide to put out record III, this time engineered by Adam Langellotti (Kurt Vile & The Violators), continuing on a similar trajectory with a little less Jesus/cocaine and a little more cosmic luau, perhaps...

"The Pissers are back, and a streaming comes across the sky. They have pissed before, but there is nothing to compare it to now. They piss in line, pissing into older and more desolate parts of the city, half-silvered images in a view finder. Somewhere there is a jug of wine from which there is no appeal. Now is the time to sing a simple and pleasant air, especially in this dismal period, so follow their bouncing ball.

This exuberant new batch of bardic exhalations reminds us that it’s time to pretend again, all over again, for the third time again. It’s time for open-hearted embrace of the forgotten value of friendship, to embrace the great cusp of the bend of light when everyone we know has lost their minds. Urbanity has its limits and the rich are incapable of humor, let’s throw those sunglasses on so we can feel alright to turn on the light. There’s a killer in town and it’s well after sunset and now it’s time to turn to the soft smear of golden stars and 24/7 bars and the late night movie and… Sing it with me…"
