***APOPKA DARKROOM is the musical work of CHRIS CAMPISI (a former member of LESS THAN JAKE, HIGHWAY 66, ASSHOLE PARADE, and CHINESE RADIO). The Space Between is a Gift is his most personal and complete offering to date. San Francisco to the core, this record reflects the city: it's weather, neighborhoods, and city life. Songs of relationships, the ones that ended to quickly and the ones that have gone on too long. Apopka Darkroom is a dark pop band. A.D. is easily accessible, yet unsettling in it's melancholy. A listen to this work brings to mind the rock sensibilities of Robert Pollard and Guided by Voices, The Velvet Underground, Wire, and a hint of early shoegaze à la Galaxie 500. As a band, A.D. is a five-piece consisting of Campisi on vocals, two guitars, bass, analog keys, and drums. Includes a download with four bonus tracks.
