***The second in a series of CHARALAMBIDES-related releases from Kranky features Charalambides guitarist TOM CARTER on solo lap steel guitar. Originally recorded in 2001 and released by Wholly Other (in an edition of 55 CDRs), Monument features two tracks—one just over two minutes, the other clocks in at forty-seven—of Carter's distinctive playing augmented with glass slides, a Digitech TSR-12 stereo reverb, a Rat distortion pedal, and a variety of Craftsmen screwdrivers.
