Horde Of Two

Bassist Wendy Atkinson and guitarist David Lester are Horde Of Two. Lester is a graphic novelist and the guitarist in the rock duo Mecca Normal. Atkinson has released three solo experimental bass albums and her writing has previously appeared in MungBeing. Horde Of Two’s I Knew I Was A Rebel Then features a six-song full length CD and an accompanying chapbook, which includes two intertwined stories on the nature of triumph, defeat and legacy. The CD’s centrepiece is a 22-minute song based on the life of Buenaventura Durruti, who died fighting fascism in Spain. Lester’s histrionic guitar playing and Atkinson’s rhythm provide the perfect soundtrack to not just the book, but this moment in time.
