From his Island home to the mainland, Victoria to Vancouver transplant Iceberg Ferg is a rare breed. He certainly didn’t invent the wheel, but has crafted his own with precision, passion, and a special grace. He has soul. He has taste. These are things, like Mother Nature, that can’t be faked.
Did you peep the young man opening for Idaho’s Built To Spill recently? Ferg has that exceptional ability to silence - and I mean as quiet as to hear a pin drop silence - an obsessive and dedicated indie rock mob. Lazy journalists may throw out the names of once ignored and now revered 1960’s folk greats in comparison, but brothers and sisters, for this old beat’s sake, just listen to Ferg’s voice. Listen to his guitar. All else becomes irrelevant.
