STORMCOCKNEY: this was the first set of two at the esteemed "cafe oto" in london. a groovy room...marshall allen's arkestra was also playing there in the same month and erika and i said hello to him at the airport on our flight over. we were really feelin' the love at this set, the room was packed and electrified plus we had mick flower and the doozer on board for bangers and mash. a rare release issued on the HEROINE U.K. imprint, not many of these were manufactured and distribution was limited to the merch table and the deep connects (with Volcanic Tongue leading the pack). now you too can grip this rising storm as if you were sittin' right there in hackney with us.

GIS A JOB (no homemade slop): not quite live at leeds but equally near the airport of intimate sonics. this was a great DIY show at "the vicarage", which was a house show for heads. bridget hayden and the ashtray navigations were also on the bill, what a gig! we rolled as a trio with mick and this is another one of those "nights" on the "steal yr slice" tour which began back in glasgow with "i left my wallet in the trossachs". in fact, all the shows in this "nice price 3 fer" were launched from that tour. for those familiar with that ride, this plaster is way more of the up close and personal variety. this is as near as we'll ever get to stopping time back in that front room, a gentle lovetone slice with some stretched out and wildly varied takes of our "popular" standards.

WOBBLY HALL: a righteous evening in a "village hall" (the new england analog would be a "grange") in the rural enclave of campsea ash. think lovejoy. this was another unbridled one, the tones were launched and seriously amplified by "tall" james' homemade wall of sound. this dude built a MUTHA of a PA system which lent all its glory and you can feel the band respond to the power. "part wild horses mane on both sides" and "hugh metcalfe" were also on the bill. it gets fuzzy and into the weird but with booty call and bodonkadonk shake that led to ass vibration in nearby pubs. we were in east anglia and we were playin' loud and proud tryin' to summon peel.
