Sudden Death records is pleased and proud to announce the agreement of a new distribution deal with legendary Vancouver band the Pointed Sticks. This deal will see the band being welcomed back into the Sudden Death family. SDR takes over distribution of the bands last full length LP, 2009’s criminally underheard and overlooked LP, Three Lefts Make A Right. Released on the Northern Electric imprint, self produced, and mixed at the Warehouse by Mike Fraser (AC/DC etc) , the album features 13 original songs that succeed both in capturing the fun of the bands heyday, yet also pointing towards a more reflective style of writing befitting the band’s extraordinary life experience.
Pointed Sticks were formed in 1978, in the first wave of the emerging Vancouver punk rock scene. Along with their contemporaries, such as D.O.A., The Dishrags, Subhumans, Modernettes, and others, the PS were an integral part of a local music explosion that has long been commented on and admired by critics world wide. Fighting against the resistance of what was an overwhelmingly reactionary Canadian music scene at the time, the PS relied on the formula of independent releases, extensive touring, and the underground grapevine, to eventually make their way to a recording deal with UK pioneers Stiff Records, the only Canadian band to do so. The Pointed Sticks broke up in 1981, and the legacy of the original band is preserved on Perfect Youth, their only full length LP, and Waiting For The Real Thing, a red hot compilation LP that brings together their 3 original Quintessence singles as well as other career highlights.

“This incredible, original-era punk-power-pop quintet were gone 25 years 1981-2006! How stunning, then, that Three Lefts is actually better than their only previous LP, 1980′s Perfect Youth.”—Jack Rabid (Big Takeover)
