Big Rig was a very short lived project from Jesse Michaels (Operation Ivy, Common Rider, Classics of Love), Doug Sangalang (Screw 32, Limp, One Time Angels), Kevin Cross (The Nerve Agents, Pitch Black), Jeremy Goody (Pitch Black) and Brandon Riggen. The band rose and fell in 1993. They played a single show and left behind a demo and this EP which was originally on Lookout Records in 1994. 1-2-3-4 Go is extremely proud to be able to reissue this EP. This is a vastly under appreciated piece of East Bay punk and a hidden gem of the Lookout catalog. Includes a faithful reproduction of the original 8 panel booklet / sleeve.

The self-titled debut album by Dead Sound is out now on 1-2-3-4 Go! Records. The guitar-driven power pop quartet—whose sound is reminiscent of bands such as The Replacements, Hold Steady, Dinosaur Jr., Husker Du, and Teenage Fanclub—was produced and mixed by Grammy Award winning engineer Chris Dugan at O2 Oakland. Dead Sound’s release follows the band’s first year performing throughout the west coast including supporting several sold out shows for bands such as Billie Joe Armstrong’s side project The Longshot and other beloved Bay Area bands. Formed in the fall of 2017, Dead Sound is: Mark W. Lynn (Dear County, Uranium 9 Volt, The Devil’s Own, Monsula), Bill Schneider (Pinhead Gunpowder, The Influents, Monsula), Mike Goshert (Fifteen, Harvest Theory, Monsula), and Mack Narragon (Melba Cults). ***BACK IN STOCK!!! Fake Punk can be some of the best punk! The late ‘70s had a bevy of great punk/power pop one off bands. Often secretly and not so secretly fronted by members of famous/semi-famous rock groups. The Pack, Pork Dukes, The Greedies, The Monks (UK) top amongst them but one of the longest and loudest lauded is F.U.2.. Raw, snotty, and jammed up with hooks and attitude. The group was essentially the ‘60s garage/freakbeat band DOWNLINERS SECT under an assumed Punk name and recorded over a case of Vodka. What came out is some of the realest fake punk you'll ever here. The Exploding Hearts would later cover their classic "Sniffin' Glue" which many incorrectly think was a Hearts original. The album has been bootlegged many times since it's release over 30 years ago and is finally being treated to a legitimate reissue sourced from the original tapes! Limited run so grab it while you can.

"Muppet Babies" is the long time crowd pleasing cover of the theme song from the Jim Henson cartoon classic from the '80s. Introductions for this band have gotten a little unnecessary over the last few years or so with SHANNON moonlighting with and co-writing songs for HUNX AND HIS PUNX, CODY's excellent solo LP with KING LOLLIPOP and the lesser known but equally impressive plastics work of IAN the drummer. But if you've some how missed them you're in for a treat. The term Young Oldies gets tossed around quite a bit and is kind of fitting. They also nestle in nicely with the resurgent garage scene. ***Finally a US issue of this modern Swedish punk classic. Now with their ISO 9004 7" added to the B-Side of the LP. 20 songs total now blazing through in just 28 minutes. Now in a full color cover with an insert that translates the swedish lyrics in to english! MRR had this to say about the album "...Imagine pairing a classic Euro Killed By Death sound (sung in Swedish, no less) with a lean toward pub rock and the amphetamine-fueled R&B that dominated the UK in the mid-’70s. While that might spell trouble for anyone unwilling to look past, I dunno, MASSHYSTERI for their Euro-punk fix, this amounts to nothing short of a fucking lightning bolt to the rest of us! It’s refreshing to hear a band mining the sounds of the initial punk era but shrugging off the pose and fashion-aping, opting instead for legit soul and passion. ROB VERTIGO stared directly in to a photograph of Dean Whitmore for three full days and has wrung out of his ADD riddled wet-lobes more catchy tracks than one would think imaginable. Seemingly hundreds since his first foray into 4-track. But catchy don't mean just simple or clean. There's a history of Pacific NW grime, grit and a snarling wry wit caked under his fingernails. Just because his calloused hands bleat out garage perfection doesn't mean something clattery, weird or dark isn't gonna' be around the bend. Angular knee-jerk rock, Fuzz-muffed and Muddled-ga-runge, overcast punkish gloom, heavy stoner chug, Sonics soulful belting, Redd Kross speed and sugar crunched pop. The whole fawking caboodle is on the table. And this carry-on contains HITS. Someday hopefully this eclectic Helpers catalog will be remembered and/or regarded as important as the works of elder-punks Rob Vasquez (who?! Go learn something kids...it's HISTORY), Kurt Bloch or even Fred Cole. If we know what's best. This is the type of music-stuff that rings loudly in HATE's flannel-wrapped Buddy Bradley's brain, if that old dweeb even listens to R&R anymore.

Adventure Time is the third CUTE LEPERS full length, and they continue to navigate the same territory pioneered by bands like The Buzzcocks, The Beat, The Jam, and The Boys pioneered a generation before but with the quirks and crooked teeth you'd expect from two guys who used to be in THE BRIEFS. In fact, in a huge nod from that generation, DUNCAN REID of THE BOYS wrote the song "77" and gave it to the Lepers for this album. In addition to the usual Cute Lepers formula there are also a number of new subtle tweeks including the best saxophone use in a punk song since The Saints’ "Know Your Product" on opening track "Tribute To Charlie." The song itself is an ode to UK Subs frontman Charlie Harper by name and a number of other die-hards in spirit. Like the last two LP's this record is an undeniable ear worm.

CODY, the bands guitarist and other main song writer/singer comes on like a crooning, hiccuping, lo-fi garage version of the aformentioned Christie. Excercising the economy and aggression of Garage Rock in ways Lou would never have imagined but with a tenderness and vocal register you know he'd appreciate. Ian, the band's drummer, in addition to his skill at his own instrument provides additional back ups that would make Ennio Morricone and a tribe of head hunters equally as proud.
