***Their second full-length album! Same formula as last time, classic Briefsesque songwriting (two members of THE BRIEFS are in this outfit) run through a power pop filter, but this time with more jagged teeth! “… the Lepers are cooking with crack. The spiky, power-pop bounce recalls a polished Fastbacks or Modern Lovers huffing the Vapors off Descendents. There’s hardly a missed stop from the opening blast…”—Alternative Press

***“The sound of a prom band in 1964 getting dosed with acid and having the sweetest lovelorn freak out. Imagine a brawling Etta James, backed up by the 13th Floor Elevators singing Shangri La's tunes. It doesn't sound exactly like that, but imagine it. If I ever get a time machine that's the first thing I'm going to try to get to happen. Shannon has a voice that can go from a sweet girl group croon to a bluesy ballsy growl before you realize you're headed for the floor. This is their debut full length following hot on the heels of the "Hunk Hunt" 7-inch on Weird Hug Records. Recorded by MATTHEW MELTON of the Bare Wires/Snakeflower 2. Do not miss this band live. Seriously. For fans of Thee Oh Sees, Nobunny, King Khan and BBQ Show, and Ginny Arnell.”

***“Samiam, Crimpshrine and Rancid. Remember that time you couldn't go wrong with any of those? It's been awhile. SNUGGLE sounds a bit like if you took the first few records of all of those bands, artfully smashed them to pieces and even more artfully reassembled them in to one giant record and updated it so it wasn't a boring throwback or some inept aping. Snuggle embody what I love about gritty pop punk and the city they hail from, Seattle. It's got the gloom and the get up and go that comes from the heart and not some calculated manipulation. For fans of Off With Their Heads, Crimpshrine, Samiam, Bent Outta Shape, Rancid. On tour through the month of November in the US!”

***“HELLO SHITTY PEOPLE from Chattanooga left this world in 2001, leaving behind a 7-inch on This Here Records and an LP recorded but never released. I bought that 7” based on their band name alone almost 9 years ago. How could a band called ‘Hello Shitty People’ not be good? Anyway I’ve honestly treasured that little record ever since. The true early Crimpshriney spirit of East Bay Pop punk had been picked up, kicked in the side and made weirder by these southern gents in a way I honestly don’t think has been done better by anyone claiming to do the same thing. It’s dark, it’s positive, it has bass lines that make Matt Freeman look like a rank amateur. I’m only half joking about that last one. These guys came from and went on to be in bands like LOS CANADIANS, RADON, CORTEZ THE KILLER and a million others.”—1-2-3-4 Go.

***Both bands contribute two songs of gravely heart broken pop punk sing-a-longs. Seattle pop punkers SNUGGLE deliver two songs originally intended for their full length. NO HIGH FIVES TO BULLSHIT are from Denver and aren't afraid to call out all this unnecessary high fiving that's been going on lately! Full-color cover art and a first press limited to 500 copies.

***GIT SOME is a band from Denver, Colorado consisting of four dudes (including Chuck and Neil from Planes Mistaken For Stars) who grew up on 80's punk rock, Reagan-era America, and shitty weed, discharging cathartic bursts of noise that shatter angst and inhibitions. Cosmic Rock was born of wild abandon, loud-ass guitar, bass and drums, and an explosive singer. It's all the good things about hardcore stripped of the agenda, all the great things about metal and hard rock stripped of the unnecessary machismo.

***Stevo sez: "3 new songs from both of these Chicagoland bands. The Arrivals have a new record on Recess called "Marvels of Industry" that I highly recommend. I’ll use the shallow plug of “Paddy from D4 is in this band now and on this record” for those of you who enjoy such things, because it’s in your best musical interest to buy this thing no matter what pretenses it’s under. The Brokedowns have no Paddy, but they do have a record on Thick called "New Brains for Everyone" - check it out!"

***After a few years away, MIKE HALE from GUNMOLL is back in a full band and recording again. IN THE RED take up essentially where Gunmoll left off with “Board of Rejection”—some extremely powerful Jawbreaker-by-way-of-Hot Water Music-style punk. GIT SOME on the other side consists of NEIL and CHUCK from PLANES MISTAKEN FOR STARS, LUCIOUS FAIRCHILD (of a hundred Denver bands) and ANDY LINDSTROM. You ever see that picture of Van Halen hanging out with Black Sabbath? Well, replace Van Halen with Black Flag and have them all sitting on a mountain of weed, and you begin to get a rough idea of what Git Some are about. Two songs by each band, and cover art illustrated by CRISTY ROAD.
