***Exclusive pressing on clear vinyl of this holy grail of European progressive jazz-funk featuring players from Marc Moulin's Placebo / Sam Suffy, and El Chicles / Nico Gomez crew…. or as someone says on Discogs: "HOLY GRAIL! A Funk Jazzy classic record. Deep groove with a deep bass and powerful horns. Excellent from start to finish. KILLER!!!” If you prefer a more restrained description, there is also this: "New pressing of the highly sought-after and very expensive Belgian jazz-funk-rock LP from 1972. Featuring members of Marc Moulin’s Placebo and Sam Suffy line-ups.” All of this leads us to the same conclusion—this is an album well worth investigating if you like funky grooves! Pressed on clear vinyl.

Who Do You See by Raven

Raven

Who Do You See
Golden Pavilion

***GEORGE PHELPS who had joined THE CARNATIONS met up with GOLIATH members in a studio and through a myriad of circumstances, teaming up with drummer ROBERT WOLFF (ex "Micah") these musicians merged into RAVEN in Louisville KY in late 1972 (even though they were all from Terra Haute, Indiana). From this moment on, the band toured non-stop for the next four years before recording this material in 1976, which remained unreleased until today. Soon after the recording was completed, Raven got a record deal with Capricorn Records. Two weeks later, Capricorn went bankrupt. The album tapes were subsequently destroyed in a fire. Raven was literally like fish out of water, and slowly but steadily what had felt like the beginning of something unique, was lost. Musically the album relies on a hard driving progressive sound with a very rhythmic approach, filled with virtuoso guitar & keyboard solos as well as pulsating bass lines in a hard-rock backing. Think Primus meets Emerson, Lake & Palmer with a touch of Yes, Deep Purple, Rush and Dream Theater. Features Robert Wolff, previously with Micah and currently with Corvus Stone. Limited to 500 copies.

GP1020 LP

***Obscure Heavy psych from 1970! Sole release by this Colombian band that surfaces briefly after the Speakers, Young Beats, Ampex and Time Machine era had come to an end. The band boasts an Italian jazz-rock drummer, Roberto Fiorilli and legendary Genesis (Uruguayan hard rock band) bassist Humberto Monroy. The record consists of one track divided into two long experimental progressive ventures (Viaje I and Viaje II) of fierce, fluid and free collective improvisation with spacey feels and a rich texture of Hammond organ, guitar, bass, tenor sax, percussion and drums that takes the listener on a trippy psychedelic Krautrock-sounding “out there” voyage. Comes with liner notes From Zodiaco co-founder Álvaro Díaz Manrique. This fully licensed album is released in high quality heavy paste-on gatefold cover, limited to 500 copies in black vinyl.
