***Portland's trio, WOOLEN MEN, are back with a new 7" EP, Rain Shapes, that follows up their acclaimed LP on Woodsist and their Quick Trips 7" EP on Loglady Records. In classic fashion this EP continues what Woolen Men's songs are described as by Pitchfork: "quick count-off, clanging guitar, galloping drums, distant organ wheezing, and underwater vocals,... which typifies the melodic 1960s rock with '90s indie production values". ***PART TIME follows up his debut Mexican Summer LP What Would You Say with a 7-inch single titled "Visions of the Future" on San Francisco's Loglady Records. Falling somewhere between post-Cure pop and a bleary sense of a last call romance, Stereogum refers to Part Time as "a coy ’80s throwback that sounds like Ric Ocasek covering Haunted Graffiti." He will be touring aside The Drums during the Spring of 2012. "Visions of the Future" is a limited edition pressing of 300.

***REISSUED!!! Terry Malts’ Distracted cassette is the first release for the San Francisco power pop outfit pre Slumberland Records signing. It was released in late 2010 and since then has been out of print until now. Slumberland states that Distracted has “been floating around on tape for a minute, passing from hand-to-hand like some well-loved piece of power-pop samizdat.” "I'm Neurotic" kicks things off in blazing style, a fuzzy descending riff underpinned by steady-as-you-like drumming. The cassette has six songs with a double A side for nonstop listening.
