***Raucous country music and blues, both traditional and original, with a gritty roadhouse sound and feel, recorded in 1962 at Threadgill’s, the famous Austin beer joint and music venue. You’ll hear beer bottles hit the floor, doors slam, chatter by the band, including some choice expletives by Janis as she laughs and banters with Lanny and Powell throughout the recording. However, the music is not overwhelmed by the background, and the raw talent heard in Janis’s clear, so-much-older-than-her-years vocals is unmistakable and undeniable, leaving little doubt about her greatness. Lanny’s consistent and timely guitar playing and Powell’s soulful harmonica work, coupled with the ever-present Janis vocals, offer a time capsule of a sound that would soon circle the globe. The first authorized vinyl release by this legendary three piece group from Austin, Texas. Formed in 1962, the Waller Creek Boys consisted of Lanny Wiggins on acoustic guitar, Powell St. John, later of The Conqueroo, Mother Earth and songwriter for the 13th Floor Elevators, on harmonica, and a then-unknown 19-year old female singer, recently transplanted from Port Arthur, Texas who would go on to bigger things—that’s right, Janis Joplin. The album includes five songs that have never been released—and the album’s remaining nine songs haven’t been commercially released in almost fifty years. All the songs were re-mastered from the original 1962 tapes, which have been in Powell St. John’s possession for almost sixty years. Included is a 14-page booklet with first person anecdotes from individuals who were part of the band’s...

St. Albert's Dream, Vol. 2: Lucid Electric Prophet
Lysergic Sound Distributors

***Heavy “dosed” psychedelia where The Prophet takes you to the depths of the unknown Acid Land. Twelve tracks from some of the deepest underground acts in North America, from the years 1968-1972. Plenty of raw fuzz, swirling effects, deep lyrics, heavy beats, and cool hooks from these mostly unknown heroes of this long past era of musical creativity. Sourced from micro-pressed 45’s and unreleased master tapes, these songs have never been compiled on vinyl before. Hear wizardry from such acts as Osceola, Hindenburg Lyon, Ark, Merriday Park and others. The very detailed fantasy cover art evidently shows "The Prophet as he enters the mythical Valley Of The Stone Giants.” And why not? Created for and by lovers of the mega-heavy and the ultra obscure. Includes a booklet with bios and rare pictures of the bands. Limited vinyl pressing of 600 copies.

***For more than fifty years, vinyl collectors and music archivists from around the world have speculated about this ultra-obscure twelve-song demo-only disc from the 1960’s: When was it pressed? Who were the musicians and the singers? Who produced this gem? What was the purpose of the record, especially considering the high talent level and the fact that it seemingly had never had a commercial release? No less an expert than the late Patrick Lundborg, one of the world’s leading experts on psychedelic culture and music and author of “The Acid Archives”, the ultimate guide to underground sounds from the 1960’s and 1970’s, called The Constant Sound demo disc "one of the Holy Grails of 1960’s sunshine pop and lyte psych," comparable to the the California sunshine style on the very rare Birmingham Sunday record, and added: "this is bound to blow the mind of any genre fan, as it delivers on all the key areas and has no obvious weaknesses." High praise from the psychedelic guru!  Lion Productions and Lysergic Sound Distributors are excited to announce they have solved the mystery of this magical recording: it is the work of the iconic Wrecking Crew and other famed musicians of the era—assembled by Grammy-winning composer Allyn Ferguson— and recorded over four sessions in the summer of 1968. Wrecking Crew members participating on the album are: Hal Blaine on drums, Howard Roberts on electric guitar, Bill Pitman on electric bass, Al Casey on electric guitar, Chuck Berghofer on standup bass, and...

***REISSUED!!! Music known as “Jesus rock” or "Jesus psych,” the synthesis of the Christian philosophy combined with heavy rock or psychedelic music, first saw light of day in the late 1960s and was immediately pressed on vinyl. It didn’t dent popular consciousness and was met with almost zero popularity in its infancy. Over the years, astute collectors and music lovers began to realize that some of these records, almost all of which had been privately pressed in very small quantities with little to no promotion, contained some of the heaviest, catchiest, guitar-driven psych rock ever released. Many of us feel that these early greatly talented, creative and innovative Jesus rock artists, which, sadly, have been mostly overlooked and remain still relatively unknown, deserve to be heard. They broke the traditional mold of what Christian music should sound like and need to be known and recognized along with the well-known rock artists and bands of the era. This album presents twelve cuts of some of the best and sometimes heaviest obscure Jesus psych rock ever. Several tracks are from ultra-rare albums that are well-known to vinyl collectors, while others are from albums so obscure that only a few copies are known to exist. Enjoy your fuzz-drenched trip through “Electric Holyland”! Only 250x copies available for distribution!

***POWELL ST. JOHN is unquestionably one of the true founders and innovators of the acid rock sound. A listen here will leave no doubt as to why he has earned the title “Sultan Of Psychedelia”. Archival recordings of pure rootsy psychedelia by the obscure but iconic 1960s Austin, Texas musician/songwriter who not only wrote the timeless rock classic 'Bye, Bye Baby,' but also four songs on the legendary first two 13th Floor Elevator albums, Psychedelic Sounds (1966) and Easter Everywhere (1967). Over the years, Powell’s songs have been recorded by such artists as Boz Scaggs, Janis Joplin, Doug Sahm, The 13th Floor Elevators, Mother Earth and ROKY ERICKSON. Boz called Powell a fantastic songwriter, Roky referred to him as a first-rate harmonica player and Tracy said he was “the most significant and profound and the least appreciated artist of the era.” The twelve songs on this, the first ever vinyl album of Powell’s music, are a mesmerizing mix of psychedelia with basic blues influences, soulful harmonica, brilliant electric guitar that fuses trembling vibrato, effects and fuzz, some “Elevators type” jug and even some Spanish influence on at least one song. The lyrics are masterful strokes of acid-inspired, thought-provoking storytelling. The legendary Roky Erickson joins Powell on track nine, 'Right Track Now.' Other artists participating on this album include: JOHN IKE WALTON and RONNIE LEATHERMAN of the 13th Floor Elevators, MARY ANN PRICE from Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks, and FROSTY SMITH, drummer for Lee Michaels, Rare Earth and others....

Dead Detroit: Lost 1982 Recordings
Lysergic Sound Distributors

***THE GERBILS were a high school hardcore punk band (with Moog!), from Farmington Hills/Detroit, Michigan in the early 1980s. Relative unknowns on the national stage during their short existence, they gigged regularly at the regional level, sharing noteworthy bills at Bookies and The Freezer Theater with the likes of Social Distortion, Whipping Boy and DC's Youth Brigade. The band recorded this collection of tunes back in the summer of 1982, but despite their impressive by-way-of 2016 pedigree (various members went on to play in THE NECROS, NEGATIVE APPROACH, SHOCK THERAPY, LAUGHING HYENEAS, DADA, GLASS HEROES, BUSTED HEARTS and THE AFFLICTED), the master tapes were lost and the songs remained unreleased. The discovery and rescue of those master tapes in 2015 at the hands of Lysergic Sound Distributors changed the equation. This record not only showcases the band's obvious skills but also pays tribute to the aggressive DIY aesthetics of the early 1980s U.S. hardcore/punk scene and recognizes The Gerbils' place in the Detroit and Midwest hardcore scene. Seventeen warp speed songs with classic doom and gloom Reagan-era song titles like: 'What Don't I Hate?,' 'Now I Want To Die,' 'Kill Everyone' and 'I Don't Like Cops.' This record is like a super-concentrated met hit of punk rock negativity and nihilism. Here come the Gerbils.... and they despise everyone.
