Brotherhood Of The Ram by Shooting Guns

Shooting Guns

Brotherhood Of The Ram
Riding Easy

EasyRider Records is proud to partner up with Shooting Guns and Cobraside to release an exclusive to vinyl version of their upcoming full length LP - "Brotherhood Of The Ram". For the band's distinct sound, it's as if Pink Floyd had a baby that was into heavy rock, (essentially keeping that stoney etherial landscape that is cinematic and psychedelic) at the same time as rocking it. Brotherhood was mastered by John McBain (Monster Magnet, Carlton Melton). Shooting Guns' debut LP, Born To Deal in Magic: 1952-1976, was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize last year. While the music is instrumental, the songs are still structured and heavily rhythmic with many melodic hooks that has found us fans within the metal, indie rock, and hip-hop music scenes.

LP $19.75

Empress Rising by Monolord

Monolord

Empress Rising
Riding Easy

Sweden's psychedelic doom band, Monolord, is set to release their First full length LP "Empress Rising" via Easy Rider Records in April 2014. The five song album comes in at almost 50 minutes of skull crushing heavy grooves and heavy guitars that summon the spirits of Norse gods when played at loud volumes. Monolord is for more than just doom-metal fanatics-this is an epic record for all fans of guitar driven rock and roll, stoner rock, and heavy riffs. The song is a 12 minute long opus that will leave you wanting more, but you will have to wait until April 1 2014 for the rest of the record that will be making headlines for next year. Empress Rising has all of the flavors of an iconic doom record and follows in the footsteps of Sleep Holy Mountain, Pallbearer "Sorrow and Extinction", Electric Wizard "Witchcult Today" with melodic vocals and harmonies that are super psychedelic and easy to sing along with.

The Swedish trio Salem's Pot have unleashed psychedelic forces of the occult for their latest LP from February 2013. There's reverb, noisy garage production, hypnotizing doom riffs, and a certain DIY irreverence that makes this release a fucking riot. Previous releases show a stronger funeral influence, but this latter incarnation is much more Electric Wizard. This makes it immediately familiar, with all the fuzz and heavy bass, but with an unmistakable energy and love for the form that makes it exciting. Two tracks recorded live in an old mental hospital by the damaged minds of a power-trio, high on very potent pot from Salem.

On their new album, the band have some psychedelic-inspired songs that have stretched out a bit, with a longer duration and some serious riff alterations. Thunderbolts Of Fuzz by White Lightning

White Lightning

Thunderbolts Of Fuzz
Riding Easy

Standout favorites of Riding Easy Records’ Brown Acid compilation series, White Lightning’s stellar discography of rare and under-appreciated heavy psych, proto-metal rock gets a vital revival for new generations to learn how swinging, swaggering and often blazingly fast rock’n’roll is done. White Lightning was formed in Minneapolis, MN in 1968 by guitarist Tom “Zippy” Caplan and bassist Woody Woodrich after leaving garage psych band The Litter (themselves popular standouts from the Nuggets and Pebbles series of garage rock rarities.) Originally a power trio, the band later expanded to a five-piece in 1969 while shortening its name to Lightning. The quintet’s brilliant and rare 1970 self-titled album on Pickwick International’s P.I.P. imprint provides six of the ten tracks on Thunderbolts Of Fuzz. The original White Lightning trio only released the one 45-rpm single “Of Paupers And Poets” during their existence (on local Hexagon label in 1968, later reissued by major label ATCO Records in 1969.) A long out-of-print posthumous album released in 1995 gathered unreleased recordings, three of which are found here. This rounds out this collection of recorded highlights from the band’s rocky history. Taking their name from a particularly potent type of LSD, White Lightning laid out from the start that it was not cute and cuddly ’70s rock. In fact, the band’s aggressive tempos are like punk rock way before punk. However, their dirty blues groove and musical prowess shows the band was more than unrefined ne’er-do-wells, they had true versatility.
