***Meet the Seals & Crofts of a new dark age. Hot on the heels of their rapturously-received and Novello Award-winning 2021 release “Glen Krupa World’s Great Drummer,” bassists and multi-instrumentalists Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Melvins Lite) and Kevin Rutmanis (Cows, Melvins, Tomahawk) have again joined forces to create a lite-jazz tour de force, “Crack Pot Whore Head.” Abetted by percussionist Lee Afentopoulos, the duo weave a silken blend of buttery evil, rich in languid menace. The breakout single “Mime Om” seems torn from the very larynx of War’s “Low Rider” before being drenched in bitter schizoid drippings. Taken as a whole, “Crack Pot” flays the very idea of soul—sinuous, insinuating, oozing, bleating. It’s an out of control bus barreling through the parade of music, backing up and doing it again and again. Pressed on clear / blue mixed vinyl and limited to 360 copies.

***The rich tradition of delta blues meets modern oral surgical techniques in Hepa.Titus' most recent full-lenth release, the bewitching, beguiling unEat. Slithering bass lines envelop and enfold like beffy anacondas; glasy shards of guitar variously claw against the surface, or drill to the center of tender nerves; all to a thudding rhythm, variously jagged, halting and propulsive. And the singers rant about something, sounding for all the world like street corner schizophrenics declaiming and howling end-times prophecies through a haze of Night Train and methadone. Even a cursory listen to the album's lauded video tunes, "El Ray Vis" and "Doe Deer," is a first-order face-pounding that would induce screaming amidst the meek and tasteless. This, dear friends is state-of-the-art rocknroll for the year 2023. Blunt, irritable, opposing. Hepa.Titus is Kevin Rutmanis (Cows, Melvins, Tomahawk, et al) Sterling Riley (Orphan Goggles, Cunts) and Paul Christensen (Qui). Pressed on clear / black mixed vinyl and limited to 310 copies.

Posh Swat, an all-percussion improvisation album with John Dwyer (OSEES, Damaged Bug, OCS, etc), Ryan Sawyer and Andres Renteria. “Sand in your hair and bugs in your teeth. Hand on your knife, knife in your sheath. Grimy bass burps thru a fried stack. And the crack of the snare is a mighty pink smack. Bells, whistles conga and vibes. This is a drug record. One thousand times. For fans of Niagra, Black Pus, Container, Bruce Ditmas and all things beat driven and drum craven.” —John Dwyer

Third and final pressing on new limited green vinyl!!! “Transmission incoming...alien sound waves have been bouncing off the side of our ship. We’ve managed to capture some of them on plastic. They seem to appear suddenly out of the vacuum. Projected by planets. Beamed through stars. Reflected off debris. Hanging in space like dust motes.  “Witch Egg is an improvised set of songs by John Dwyer, Nick Murray, Brad Caulkins, Greg Coates and Tom Dolas. Another fired expedition out in the wilds. Recorded and mixed at Stu-Stu-Studio by John Dwyer. This one is a burner designed optimally for your eco-pod sound system. When you’ve left the world behind, you will need a soundtack while you lay in dream stasis.” —John Dwyer

Metamorphosed by Osees

Metamorphosed
Rock Is Hell

Third and final pressing on new solid orange vinyl. “It seems that every time you turn around, there’s another Oh Sees [OSEES] slab. Long ago we lost all capacity to be surprised that this sturdy unit keeps putting out records and that they’re really good. You can now add the Metamorphosed 12-inch to you ever deeper sagging row of John Dwyer and Co.’s seemingly no sleep release schedule. The five tracks were taken from the sessions that formed 2019’s Face Stabber album, a seventeen-track / eighty+ minute jammified four-sider. Metamorphosed would have been the perfect third LP to fit in with the other two.”  “John and Matt Jones run the Castle Face label with full autonomy, so it would make sense that Metamorphosed, like The 12” Synth, would have been a CF release. Yet, it’s on the very cool Rock Is Hell Records label, which has put out some great Dwyer related jams in the past. The OCS Live In San Francisco album was not only great musically but all the vinyl and sleeve variants made the collectors break out in a fan sweat they’re probably still recovering from. Being able to do all this yourself, it’s obviously cool to still work with Jochen and Rock Is Hell.  “Metamorphosed isn’t just some barrel scrape for those who can’t get enough. All of the five tracks stand up to anything on Face Stabber. The record’s twenty three+ minute ‘I Got A Lot’ is one of the coolest songs...

***"Shit and Shine return to Rock Is Hell—home of the legendary Le Grand Larence Prix album from 2011 with the brand spanking new banger Scenic Farm. Spread over two heaving discs, the main man Craig Clouse has once again proved how up there he is right now as a producer, slaying all in his path and showing how far you can really take this shit. It's all right here—from the snare driven Schifrin funk of 'Camino Real' to the growling acid of 'Whaxaxaxki' via the urban sizzurp of 'Off The Wall' and that's just the first side. Take the full ride my friend. Glistening 808's, samples of spoken word, breaks that glitch and split into revealing grooves you had no idea were even there, a smattering of kosmich, total distortion overload, a link up with EVOL and a re-do of Pet Brick too. It's all here. You need this." Pressed on exclusive limited edition red vinyl.
