***"The skronky agitation that was prevalent in Huggy Bear can be heard in "County Pride," as is Male Bonding's melted punk. It's a nice first taste and a welcome return for Rowley." Brooklyn Vegan. White vinyl edition of 100 copies.

***The mini album Shiny New Model covers various thematic ground: history alive in the present, the sadness of modern consumption, adultery via sexting, and a song set inside an actual bodega (‘Shiny New Model’). In addition to the breezy hook-filled songs, Shiny New Model features an extended improvised version of the group’s staple track "Truth Is Not Punishment." The band has been using this song as a vehicle for live improvisation for a year and decided to use a day of the session to experiment with capturing the song’s new, extended boundaries in the studio. Pressed on green vinyl. (STREET DATE - 10/11/2019)

***It’s been long enough (three years by our count) so here’s the new HONEY RADAR album Ruby Puff of Dust. This is the fifth full-length overall for the Philadephia-based outfit, sitting atop a body of releases that swells every time you check back in with them. It’s got twelve songs and stands as one of the most pop-oriented Honey Radar releases—all killer, all signal, Roger McGuinn playing 12-string with a glasscutter, Buffalo Springfield eating the draft, mysterious psychoactive compounds found in the bottom of a cardboard box in storage … the makings of a cult classic (or barring that, just a cult). Edition of 500 copies.

***BODEGA, the art-punk band from Brooklyn create, arguably, the greatest debut album from a NY band since Parquet Court's Light Up Gold. Produced by AUSTIN BROWN (Parquet Courts). "Brooklyn’s Bodega have been around for a while, having grown out of band Bodega Bay, shortening their name and condensing, morphing into a more focused sound that draws from situationist post-punk with a strong anti-consumerism streak. You may have seen them opening for Protomartyr, or at Jonathan Toubin’s Soul Clap a couple weeks ago with La Luz (where they were terrific)."—Brooklyn Vegan

***BACK IN STOCK!!! Received a 7.4 rating from Pitchfork. "Savoy Motel have created a weird sonic world that has one foot in glittery glam, and the other in minimal, twitchy postpunk."—BrooklynVegan. "Savoy Motel recreate the sounds of the ’70s using the ’90s pastiche techniques of Beck, Ween and Royal Trux, compacting glam-rock, southern boogie, and Stax sax stabs into 8-bit videogame proportions."—Pitchfork.
