Abyssal have always been a low-profile entity within the death metal scene. Even though their new album Antikatastaseis is their third, the band’s previous two were primarily self-released digitally (where they were available for free) and via CDR for anyone who requested a physical copy of their work. The band never partook in any live activities, interviews or any kind of promotion. When Profound Lore happened across their 2013 album Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius, the label offered to release this mesmerizing death metal recording officially in a limited run.
