***Autos are veterans of the Santa Cruz punk/power pop scene having cut their teeth in countless unsung bands from their sleepy surf town. Inspired by everything on their turntables from glam and mod revival to left-of-the-dial indie rock and post-punk, Autos cross the subcultural arcade to an 80’s mall rock beat and never shy away from a melody, nor catchy chorus.Written over a transitional period while moving from San Francisco back to Santa Cruz, Auto’s debut EP is a retrospective love letter to time in the big city and returning home to the small town that formed them. A smart and soulful take on punk with lyrical themes of class consciousness, anxiety and the human spirit with heart on your sleeve vocals, moody chorus washed guitars, driving bass, and a steadfast beat perfect for marching in solidarity with the underdog.
