***HHBTM Records is proud to announce the newest addition to the HHBTM Archive Series with the long overdue reissue of The Essex Green's self-titled debut EP. This is an expanded edition, compiling early singles and never-before-released bonus tracks. The original EP from this New England neo-psychedelic group made up of members of Ladybug Transistor and Guppyboy was a solid five song 12" released by the Elephant 6 label which sold out in what felt like minutes and was impossible to track down within the week of release. The expanded part of this reissue includes three tracks ("March to the Green," "The Crow," and "All Summer Long") from the split 7" single with the alt-country band Sixth Great Lake that was originally released on the Sudden Shame label in 1999. The next expanded tracks include "Monkey Man," "My Guitar's Too Cool for Me," and "Yesterday and Today" from the HHBTM Singles Club 7" from 2000. "No Small Faces" and "Howard Street Tonight" are two completely unreleased tracks from the band's early basement tapes archive. These early releases created the buzz that got them signed to Kindercore Records in 2000 for their debut album 'Everything Is Green' which was recently reissued on the Spanish label Dust and Memory in late 2025. The band would soon sign to Merge Records and release three more albums over the following 20 years.
