***BACK IN STOCK!!! FACE TO FACE are a rarity in the music world: A band that not only helped define a sound, but who continue to fine-tune their music with each subsequent release. This is undoubtedly true of the band’s tenth full-length No Way out but Through, a melodic-punk masterpiece teeming with blistering guitar riffs, fleetfingered basslines and vocal harmonies that are so infectious they’ll be rattling around your brain for weeks on end. Then again this should come as no surprise to anyone who has followed face to face’s 30-year history. While their sound is rooted in the West Coast punk genre they helped pioneer, No Way out but Through raises the sonic bar when it comes to songwriting, arranging and musicianship. This time around, singer/guitarist Trever Keith was able to get out of his proverbial comfort zone by renting a cabin near Malibu, California, and holed up with bassist Scott Shiflett as they transformed a collection of their respective demos and ideas into the polished recording you hear today. Production-wise, the band teamed up again with Juno Award winning producer Siegfried Meier and Davey Warsop (Foo Fighters, Green Day) and later was mixed and mastered by Jason Livermore at the legendary Blasting Room. The result is an album that’s sound quality mirrors its sonic weight and is the best-sounding face to face album to date.

***Long-running SoCal punk band FACE TO FACE released a live album back in 1998, when the group was only seven years old and had a trio of full-lengths to its name. Two decades, six studio albums, and roughly a million shows later, it’s high time face to face recapture one their ferocious live performances on an album. The ninth edition of Fat's Live in a Dive series captures the band blasting through 12 songs from their storied career in just 39 minutes.

***When it comes to punk rock, few can rival what FACE TO FACE has accomplished in 27 years (!) as a band. While always staying true to the signature face to face sound, they are consistently finding new and exciting ways to keep their fans invigorated. With this in mind, it will come as no surprise that the band shifted gears on their upcoming album Hold Fast (Acoustic Sessions). As the name implies, the new album features 10 acoustic renderings of classic Face To Face songs. Comprised of fan-favorites ranging across their entire catalog, the songs on Hold Fast (Acoustic Sessions) are so much more than simply strippeddown versions of the originals on acoustic guitar. The songs come to life in a whole new way with robust instrumentation and a savvy musical perspective that puts them right at home among today’s most respected Americana and Alt-Acoustic acts. Of course, these fresh new takes still feature the unforgettable melodies that fans originally fell in love with, making them the perfect addition to summer playlists for both long-time fans and new listeners alike. Face To Face will be hitting the road hard this summer in support of Hold Fast, with a full US acoustic tour. (STREET DATE - 7/27/2018)

***BACK IN STOCK!!! FACE TO FACE started off their 25th anniversary with a bang, reuniting with Fat Wreck Chords and releasing their 9th studio full-length Protection. After much critical acclaim for their new material and months of successful tour, Face To Face tie a bow on their 25th year together with the re-release of their first three albums (Don’t Turn Away, Big Choice, Face to Face). The releases that originally put Face To Face on the map and set them up as a household name in the melodic punk world are now once again readably available. This time around each album has an expanded track list containing bonus songs from the original recording sessions. All three have also been remastered and boast enhanced artwork that incorporates silver details to denote the 25th anniversary. The band’s sizable vinyl collecting contingent have reason to celebrate, as both Big Choice and Face to Face have been out of print since their original extremely limited pressings (Big Choice was actually never available to the buying public, only as a rare promotional item) and both willfinally be available again. ***Whoever said that you can’t go home again never told FACE TO FACE. The melodic punk institution, whose songs have infuenced an entire generation of bands, return to Fat Wreck Chords—the same label who released their classic debut Don’t Turn Away—for their ninth full-length studio album, Protection. Protection draws from the energy and passion of Face To Face's early records but is filtered through the band’s unique perspective as true “lifers” in punk rock. The result is an urgent and powerful 11-song blast that recalls the melody and angst of the band's formative sound, while showcasing their greatly matured song-writing acumen. Another factor in the album’s outcome was the contribution of producer BILL STEVENSON (NOFX, Rise Against, Propagandhi, Anti-Flag). After nearly two decades of Face To Face producing their own albums, the benefit of the collaboration with Stevenson is reflected in the elevated feel of Protection. Protection is an emphatic validation of their 25 years of massive commercial and critical success. (STREET DATE - 3/04/2016)
