"The artist Tina Fulker (1954-1992) would be a bit of a mystery to most folks, myself included. A poet hailing from the UK, she is the author of 4 books of poems (Gash!, Skylight, Scrapbook, Jukebox) that are highly coveted amongst collectors of rare ephemera. Her recorded works seems to have come from those pages & this album collects the 8 tracks from her cassette release, 'Tender Hooks' (1986) + the five included on a V/A tape, 'Real Time 6' from 1983. With assistance from John Ramo (guitar) & Zenon Slawinski (electronics), Fuller's cadence both flickers & haunts around the the sparse, brilliantly executed arrangements. Zaius Tapes mastermind, Johan Klepp, says that he'd been listening to his copy of 'Tender Hooks' almost exclusively over the 2025 holidays & decided it needed a vinyl legacy, thus combining 'Tender Hooks' with the 'Real Time 6' recordings for this 'Collected Works' lp. Spoken word, lo-fi, minimal synth, glits of Suicide come to mind within these pieces, as does the early works of Anne Clark. Done in a paste-on edition jacket w/a pressing of 200, this is certainly release no one saw coming.
