***JUMP is a new pan-European trio bringing together three musicians from different generations and backgrounds: British pianist Pat Thomas, Danish saxophonist and composer Maria Dybbroe, and Italian vocalist, composer and multi-instrumentalist Andrea S. Giordano.The three met in Oslo in August 2021, as the pandemic was finally beginning to loosen its grip. Their first encounter was immediate and symbiotic, making it clear that a new band had taken shape. Since then, JUMP has toured across Europe, developing a shared musical language built on close listening, improvisation and a restless curiosity.JUMP's music moves freely between avant-garde, experimental electronics, jazz, electro-pop and contemporary classical music. Rather than settling into any one of these territories, the trio uses them as points of departure, creating music that constantly shifts perspective. Piano cascades meet electronics; vocals and clarinet emerge from and disappear into percussive textures; melodic lines form, break apart and return in unexpected shapes.
