Following a series of meditative explorations in the form of the Singularity Zone series of releases, The Oscillation have returned with a new sense of vigor and purpose. Refreshed and re-energized, the result is The Start Of The End, an album that casts more light and shade than ever before to create a mood of hope and rebirth. At once warm and welcoming, The Start Of The End is an album quite unlike anything that The Oscillation have ever released before. Fueled by optimism and taking stock of what’s good about life and what needs to be jettisoned, the record is a result of spiritual and physical recharging and cleansing. Leaving the claustrophobic environs of the big city for a more bucolic backdrop, the change in location has left a profound mark on Demian Castellanos, the creative force behind The Oscillation. Where the exorcism of dark emotions of previous album Untold Futures left Castellanos wondering if he’d ever make music again, his new surroundings stirred something within him. “When I made my new home, I allowed myself time to do nothing for a while,” says Castellanos, “and I then started some new songs without worrying about them being on an album. Over the course of three albums in the shape of Out Of Phase (2007), Veils (2011) and From Tomorrow (2013), The Oscillation has come to be established as one of the premier voyagers and navigators of the politics of consciousness. While the purity of their vision is diluted in lesser hands in an ever-expanding scene, The Oscillation’s dexterity in moulding and manipulating sound into an aural kaleidoscope remains undiminished. Presented here is a collection of not only rare and previously released material grabbed by eager hands but also a handful gems that are finally seeing the light of day. In doing so, The Oscillation are giving off more than a reflection of their talents; here, they’re offering something much more and go beyond the mirror. Four of these tracks have already been released as b-sides and limited EPs, all of which have sold out. The unreleased tracks are expressions that haven't been able to fit on previous albums but demand your attention to present another side of The Oscillation. Which, of course, they do. ‘Waste the Day’ (b-side of Record Store Day release 'No Place To Go') is a groove-based beast that moves confidently in and around broad strokes of sound. But it’s with the unreleased material where the jewels shine with hypnotic and glorious wonder. ‘Endless Oblivion’ shimmers in a loaded haze as ‘The Detour’.

The Oscillation's third album "From Tomorrow" is an attempt to find some kind of new mental and spiritual zones, away from the psychological effects of the modern urban landscape, and the curious emptiness of the digital social world that we are forced to inhabit. The introversion of these bleak and unsettling conditions are reflected back as music with all the ambiguous emotions of hope, despair, aggression, indolence and narcoleptic bliss. These are the preconditions for the sonic world presented on "From Tomorrow". This is music that on one side has been chewed by the teeth of insanity and spat out into a strange landscape, whilst the other is basking in the warmth of a mysterious inner sun. This state of affairs if mirrored by the cover artwork which was created by film maker Julian Hand.  This dystopian psychobabble aside, it is perhaps fitting to reference the musical otherness of Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, the absurdist punk attitude of The Stranglers ('The Raven' and 'Men In Black' eras), the garage dementia of Helios Creed with the odd snarl of 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath'.

In those three years the band have played live all over the world, notching up a reputation as one of the finest live bands in the underground music world with performances alongside such musical luminaries as Chrome Hoof, Moon Duo, Beak, Zombie Zombie, Deerhunter, to name but a few. This plethora of live experience has clearly had an effect on the song writing. Whilst their debut album was dominated by stripped back grooves and motorik rhythms Veils sees the Oscillation sound mature in numerous ways, song craft and introspection adding to their already rich penchant for sonic textures to create a rich and varied new collections of songs. From the industrial pulse of “Future Echo” to the haunted b-movie swagger of “Fall,” the disco dub fury of “Telepathic Birdman” to the ecstatic melancholy of “See Through You,” the album features a remarkable spectrum of sonic experiences that range from beautifully crafted melodic songs to droning, no-wave chaos. The album release will be accompanied by two video releases (for “Future Echo” and “Lament”) made by long-standing visual collaborator JULIAN HAND.
