Twenty-two years running Whidbey Island, WA’s Potbelly are at it again with their new full length Test Of Time. For this album, their normal beer swillin’ and sexual debauchery is left in the past; instead, they leap forward with songs speaking out against police brutality, gang violence, racism, rape, and Trump’s new version of Amerikkka. Still, some of their nerdy fun reappears in songs “I Love Star Wars More Than I Love You,” and horror-punk murder ballad “Defining Moments.” The real stars of the show, however, are anthems “United Underground” and “Wear Black.” Thrash-punk crossover madness.
