***Romantične Boje (translated as Romantic Colors) holds a special place in the history of Southeast European music. As the first synth-pop band from Niš, Serbia (then Yugoslavia), the band, led by Zoran Cvetković Cvele, carved out a unique sound between 1983 and 1986. Their music received rave reviews from critics, and their tracks enjoyed airplay on radio stations throughout the region. Their video for Tišina (Silence) became a defining moment of the era. Now, 30 years after their breakup, Doomed To Extinction Records has issued their self-titled album—originally recorded in 1986 by Predrag Cvetičanin (Dobri Isak) in his home studio in Niš. This album stands as a rare and precious gem of 80s synth music from the Balkans, capturing a unique moment in time when the region's music scene was experimenting with new electronic sounds and futuristic vibes.
