***From Richmond Virginia, SIPHON comes out swinging hard on their first release, Stark Raving Mad. That might be the best way to describe these four heaters they cooked up on this platter. Hectic and raw, they bring their own take on international hardcore (specifically Japan by way of Sweden) through an American filter. You can hear the similarities of East Coast contemporaries such as Ultimate Disaster, Destruct, et al. with the urgency and brutality of the riffs. If this short sharp shock of a hardcore punk 7” is any indication, Siphon is going to be destroying ear drums across the planet in no time.
