***JJ-180 got its start in 1977 when a group of teenagers came together around the art & music that had influenced them growing up in the ‘70s in Santa Cruz. They were: POLIO FERRARI (keyboards), WALLY SOUND (guitar), TORA BROOKS (bass), WALTER MCKEE (guitar), and CAKER CALLOWAY (drums). Their music was a hybrid of the then emerging punk sound as well as ‘60s surf, garage & psychedelic music. The band was a keystone of the Santa Cruz punk scene and organized many important early punk and new wave shows in their hometown. After establishing a local following, they released a single and a few songs on compilations. This is that very single.
