***REPRESSED with UPDATED ARTWORK!!! First full-length after singles on HoZac and Trouble in Mind. There are traces of Serge Gainsbourg, Stereolab, Yeh-Yeh, and Nuggets-style, fuzz-driven freakouts. The track “Down Underground” was featured in an episode of the network drama Gossip Girl. The album has a cinematic feel, with it’s recurring themes, lyrics & instrumantals, taking cues from influences like Gainsbourg’s great Histoire de Melody Nelson album as well as the 1960s soundtracks they’ve become enamored with. Within the groovy and melancholy tracks, further listens (and a little quick translating) expose both the biogrpahic and the fantastic in these songs.
