Always Almost There documents the original lineup of Cleveland, Ohio's Prisonshake, drawing from the dozen or so singles, EPs, compilations, and import-only albums released between 1987 and 1992. Volume 1 focuses mostly on the group's vicious, high-energy rock and roll, answering the question, "What if the Faces had learned to play in hardcore bands?" along with a good amount of genre-bending and a healthy dose of zero-fucks-to-give. The majority of tracks have been remastered from the original tapes.
