***“For the last four years or so, SLUSHY has been one of my absolute favorite bands in Chicago. I think I've seen them as a five piece, a four piece, maybe a three piece, but in the end, they found off of that rock n roll goodness worked best boiled down into highly concentrated, pop-infused, two man juggernaut. After an exhaust search, frontman CHRIS KRAMER found another rock n roller as dorky and awesome as he was in local man-about-town BRENT ZMRHAL. Both shared a love for all that is good and pure in rock 'n' roll: great songwriting, catchy hooks, and having fun, and the result is pure gold. If you are a fan of clever danceable pop songs, if you dig the garage-pop stylings of bands like The Memories, Nobunny or Eric and the Happy Thoughts, or if you ever wondered what it might have sounded like if Jonathan Richman started a bubblegum band, then Slushy is the band for you. ‘Candy’ has always been my favorite song at every Slushy show. Its a great slow jam about either something or someone sweet that make you drunkenly put your arm around the stranger next to you at the show and sing along even if you don't know the lyrics. ‘Pocket,’ though it is on the b-side, might be the undercover hit on this record. It's definitely the side to put on right when the dance party is warming up and its time to turn up the heat. It's the soundtrack to your eighth beer at the beach, the one that's got a little sand and grit in it, but it still fucking cold as ice, and the sun is still out, and there's babes as far as the eye can see, and maybe, just maybe, this summer's gonna last for ever. Slushy is a great band, and this is a great record. Don't be a dummy, pull the fucking trigger already. You'll be happy you did.” Limited pressing of 300.
