Coming from the same ’90s garage explosion that gave the world Teengenerate and the Mummies, the No-Talents were a Parisian-based four-piece known for their raw ’n’ fast mix of garage rock, punk and “Killed By Death” slop. Their self-titled LP is fun, crass and packed with energetic songs marked by snotty female vocals. Originally released on Broken Rekids in 1996, this opening blast provided the blueprint they followed for the next four years. The band took their nasty, broken-glass power-chord blitzkrieg to France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, England, Spain and the USA before breaking up in 1999. Founding members Iwan L., Cécilia M., Laurent B. and Lili Z. have all had many bands and projects since then, but now they are reforming to play one show in Spain at the Funtastic Dracula festival on October 31th, 2014.

***ZOUNDS was a giant influence in mid '80s political punk right up there with CRASS, SUBHUMANS, MOB, etc. Musically they were more tuneful around the edges than say CRASS but they were still punk and had the same political, anarchist message. This CD/ 2 LP set contains 20 songs (their LP and 4 EPS) which were ALL the music they released. Similar bands: APPLE, MOB, and THATCHER ON ACID, SUBHUMANS, and POLITICAL ASYLUM, CRASS

***Warehouse find!!!! Scarfo's main songwriter and front man Jamie Hince now goes under the name HOTEL in The KILLS! Imagine the vocals and song writing of Paul Weller of THE JAM crossed with the guitar style of GANG OF FOUR, in a '90s pop-song context, and you'd be close to understanding what late lamented SCARFO was all about. These copies are somewhat shopworn, as they are the original pressing.
