Tiny Creature by Cex

Cex

Tiny Creature
Tigerbeat6

After a quick succession of uniquely soulful electro-prog albums, Baltimore’s Cex loomed ominously on the periphery of pop stardom. He wore prominent underground record labels the way other rising artists wore gaudy diamond jewelry; the music press salivated like hyenas behind a hunting tigress, eager to feed on the havoc this unpredictable wunderkind was sure to wreak upon the increasingly conservative American music scene. All of this, though, was dashed when Cex attempted to release the cyberotic loveletter that is Tiny Creature, a miniature synthetic opera that explicitly invokes an unbridled lust so inappropriate it might leave even Nabokov or de Sade speechless. In an era which so relishes both the integration of digital technology into our sexuality and the story of the once-celebrated hero’s fall from grace, it is a testament to the intense graphic imagery Cexman wrings from his electronic orchestra that his name is mentioned only in whispers of late. After finding his labels distancing themselves from him, legitimate venues banning his live show and online media outlets blacklisting all associated projects, Cex turned to longtime friend and advocate Kid606’s Tigerbeat6 to make sure that his obscene opus could be heard by the public. Convinced that history would vindicate Tiny Creature like it did like earlier boundary-pushing works by James Joyce, Gore Vidal, and Prince, 606 has risked potential years of litigation to publish this nasty, nasty album.

On ¡Ándale! Vol. 1 Kid606 delivers the massive 150 bpm mutant-bass stomper of a track “Daylight Bangin’,” as Cardopusher is rolling out deep Bass and House vibes with “Morning Attempts.” Wascal is representing Bristol with the funky and heavy original 2-step of “Set Up”, while Luke’s Anger mixes the wonk and the wobble for the four on the floor laid-back techno bumper “Warble Tone.”

Megamuse by Cex

Cex

Megamuse
Tigerbeat6

Cex is back in 2011 with “Megamuse,” one of his best songs ever and the first single from his game-changing upcoming new album Tiny Creature. “Megamuse” is a sexy beast of spaced out IDM/Hip-Hop sped up and played at 11, pumping out Dr. Dre style Cali-love synth melodies over meaty double-time Baltimore club hi-hats and a laid-back 808 groove. While most of his contemporaries were busy installing new plug-ins or trying to make Dubstep, Cex dug deep into his freakiest electrofunk roots to create a whole new musical vocabulary to speak with, born from long nights jamming with high-end FM synths driven by step sequencers and freestyle MPC blasting. Stellar remixes come courtesy of next level beatmaker Fulgeance (Musique Large, All City, One Handed Music, Eklektik Records), post- wobble/futurebass duo Baconhead (Ebola & Autobee-Acroplane), illustrator/musician/genius Raoul Sinier aka RA (Planet-Mu, Ad Noiseam, Sublight), and up and coming electronica/IDM whiz-kids KingBastard (Herb) and Scrubber Fox (The Centrifuge, Merck, Skam).

Brighton based Guy Appleton is back as Bruce Stallion on Tigerbeat6 with "Donuts", introducing a more evolved version of his hectic yet funky take on bass music. After some recognition for his previous releases from the likes of Warlock, NoYeahNo, Z-shed, Braindrop.com, Igethype!, Generation Bass and many others, Bruce has evolved his sound away from the hardcore rave wobbling of the past to take in more influences from House, Funky, Grime and IDM, successfully retaining the itchy humour of previous work and developing a more distinctive and individual sound.   "Donut" demonstrates a funky / bmore influence, coupled to a sauntering arpeggio. "Heat" takes the "92 step" bounce of the last ep and injects it with more funk and squirting synths. The last three tracks, "Pulmonary", "Optics" and "Lizard" represent a further shift towards a style informed by house / funky / idm and are aimed just as much at the head as at the feet.

Still Lox W/ Xyx Bice Ep by Eats Tapes

Eats Tapes

Still Lox W/ Xyx Bice Ep
Tigerbeat6

Eats Tapes take on the complacent global experimental and techno music scenes with an EP of all new tracks that document a stellar step forward in their unique sound. These curiously titled tracks give an obvious nod to late 90's UK techno and Germany's funky minimalists, while staying true to their psyched out Northern California and Portland roots.  Classic acid grooves create the backbone while scant 303 notes and sparse and spatial raw synths tones percolate like The BBC radiophonic workshop in Sci-Fi mode jamming with Mike Ink.  Gone is the squelchy swirling noise and relentless percussion of the early work; instead we have patiently restrained compositions that build and tweak into new shapes and forms. Instead of sounding cold and detached, these minimal bangers sound full of life and spontaneous in a way only Eats Tapes could, drawing strength from their legendary improvised live shows and countless hours spent behind a vast array of homemade and modified equipment.

Randy Twigg vs. Tigerbeat6 Round 2! In the ring in the right corner, we have the re-release of Twigg's debut album, Undone, weighing in with 10 songs of heavy weight bass distortion and pounding drums layered with catchy synths and vocal melodies. Presenting, in the left corner, the heavy weight LP, Redone, containing album remixes by dirty, hard hitting electronic producers from across the globe. This eclectic collection of remixes combines the raw elements and vocal hooks of Twigg's originals with the low end and synthetic friction of the dance floor. Tracks from Mt. Sims, Electronicat, Plateau Repas, Subeena, aMinus, Khan, Syntonics, Hawnay Troof, Blattcouture, Magnum .38 and Kid606 will not only jump every party, but connect, on one release, the underground club styles of 5 countries, spanning over 3 continents: Europe, the United Kingdom, and North America.   Originally from Toronto, Canada, Randy Twigg has risen to the top of Berlin's infamous underground music scene, playing bass, producing and touring with Mt. Sims (Hungry Eye, formerly Mount Sims of International Deejay Gigolo), collaborating and sharing stages with such diverse artists as Kid Congo Powers (The Gun Club, The Cramps), Toby Dammit (Iggy Pop, Jessie Evans), Stereo Total (Kill Rock Stars), T. Raumschmiere (Mute), Jessie Evans (Fantomette, The Vanishing) and MeLL (France). The release of her 2009 debut album, Undone, has produced two remix releases and a busy tour schedule throughout Europe. Performing with André Lange (Mt. Luke’s Anger returns to Tigerbeat6 after a 2-year hiatus, bringing to the table four tracks of downright raw and unadulterated jacking machine-funk.  "Gross Negligence" starts the EP off, Sounding like a illegal backstreet boxing brawl between a 90’s techno classic and it's bastard-basshouse offspring, this track successfully crosses over into many scenes, whilst keeping one foot firmly in the rave. "Tombstone Trax" brings the funk with it's timeless equation of 303's + bad horror movies! This terrifying combination can only equal one thing: B-movie-acid-perculator classic! "Nice Car" is a nod to today’s high-speed consumerist society. Partly composed on an iphone in an attempt to destroy a car advert, it's a swung out jacker that will have the modern 9-5 dancefloor throwing strange angular shapes all over the shop.  Moving into a slower direction Luke closes with "Sloq Flush", this track retains the trademark Luke’s Anger P-Funkesque synths and spooky riffs, but shows a bold new Braindance styled depth to his sound, stretching his compositional palette over a more broken and rough terrain….. "The Humdinger" EP does exactly what it says on the tin: no fillers, only humdingers!

For this anticipated follow up release to “Miami Swipe”, PJ calls upon the analog forces of beyond to create this undead electro opus. Part 80’s horror soundtrack, part romantic-dance-pop-locker story, the Zombie Pants EP will leave your pants possessed! This time around, Pooterhoots draws heavy inspiration from the likes of composers Henry Manfredini and John Carpenter while utilizing a secret mythical function of the 808 to induce disorderly brain-thirsty dancing hordes! Having busted his chops in Detroit with releases on Richie Hawtin & John Acquaviva’s Definitive label (under the name “Cantina”), PJ Pooterhoots went on to release the seminal “Barf, Lieb Meine EP” and “No Go” 12"s on his cousin Safety Scissors Proptronix records. The incomparable fast edit electro on these ep's turned many heads and tracks were licensed to trendsetting dj mix CD's all over the world like Australia's The Bang Gang DJs "D Is For Disco, E Is For Danc- ing" on Modular records, Scotland's Optimo DJ's "How To Kill The DJ [Part Two]" on Tigersushi, and James F!@#$%^ Friedman's "Go Commando" on Defend music. Featuring famous guests like huge southern rapstar Young Jeezy as well as Brooklyn veteran rapper Agallah and long time associate microphone master Sin, dDamage presents The Truth EP. The French duet invites once again great French remixers with recently Tigerbeat6 signed Humanleft, who delivers here a fresh and sportive ultimate version as well as headmaster Komori, with his unique style made out of numerous grimey electro-funk paths. Not to forget Kid606, who makes room with a degenerate post-everything asteroid remix. Werewolf Gangbang Ep by Monster X

Monster X

Werewolf Gangbang Ep
Tigerbeat6

The EP's title track is a magnificent work of mutant halfstep, brandishing it's brutal, precise rhythms and sci-fi/horror cinematic themes with pride. A blistering Banger sure to appeal to fans of King Cannibal, Broken Note and the like. Meanwhile, "Rock your Body" takes things on a groovier electro tip, but still retains it's crisp, mangled edits atop militantly heavy, body-pounding beats. "Lovesongs and Octopussy" takes some cut-up ragga vocals, chopped drumbreaks and mashes them into stuttering, jagged rhythms sounding like The Bug on PCP. The last track "Prowler" is a remix of two japanese dustup producers FreezerFreeze aka God OD (myspace.com/godod0079). It's a solid, groovy and militant-as-fuck high-tech audio weapon that's already ripped various dancefloors for those lucky enough to catch his live performances (look up his Glade set on youtube!), and caned on Sub FM by the Combat Recordings crew. Don't miss this highly varied EP from a diverse artist who blends insane sounds and dancefloor sensibility, to gleefully batter and disorientate you while keeping you firmly locked on the dancefloor.

Dance With The Chorizo Ep by Kid 606

Kid 606

Dance With The Chorizo Ep
Tigerbeat6

Special Maxi-EP release from Kid606 and his innovative electronica buddies. In true Tigerbeat6 fashion this release is all over the map musically but high quality throughout. Aside from the dark and atmospheric 808 groove of "Samhain Atlanta", the new Kid606 tracks are of his more mashup/dancefloor style, with the funky Ska meets aggressive Soca Anthem "Another One Bites the Dubstep" being the standout. Cex Delivers an epic eight minute remix of "Underwear Everywhere" in his ambient Bataille Royale style, while dDamage goes the opposite direction, making their remix of "Baltimorrow's Parties" sound like early Jesus and Mary Chain or a lost b-side from Ministry's "Land of Rape and Honey" Sessions. The C.L.A.W.S and Eats Tapes remixes prove minimal funky techno can still be abstract and interesting. True UK hardcore rave innovator Michael Forshaw brings the ruckus with his speaker shattering version of "Hello Serotonin, My Old Friend", sounding like an updated soundclash between AFX and the Prodigy at their most mentalist.

Deep in the bowels of Europe, well past the architecture and schnitzel hauses, past the sweating line-ups roped away from already packed clubs, past the throbbing mass on the dance floor itself, deep in the hot flashes of stages across Europe and Canada, slamming her beats, strapped into her bass, playing every note like her last, this is where you will find Randy Twigg.  Her new album "Undone" is a feverish blend of influences extending back to her rock and punk roots in Canada as the driving force behind Toronto's infamous Fuck Puppets (BugEyed Records), followed by a relocation to Berlin where she has played and collaborated with the likes of Mt. Sims (Hungry Eye, Gigolo Records), Kid Congo Powers (The Gun Club, The Cramps), Toby Dammit (Iggy Pop, Jessie Evans), Stereo Total, T. Raumschmiere, and where our girl has been fanning her fire with guitars, beats, electronics, and the asses of the masses.  "Undone" is a bold, catchy, lyric driven collision of pop consciousness and dance floor balls served hot with plenty of molton rock and analogue bubbles to keep things niiiiice and slippery. And it's loud as fuck.  Slapping us with monster beat and synth combos while her signature distorted bass guitar sound ties us up and cuts the phone lines. Randy lays it out and you take it, big fella. She sticks that round sound right where we want it over acoustic drums (performed by Berlin born and thoroughbred, André Lange) and screaming bass. Raging dirty south hip-hop beats and big detuned rave synth's melt with sweet melodies and bouncing bassdrums, creating an oversaturated and crisp analog/digital hybrid that fills the frequency spectrum like the biggest grime or dubstep tunes, but with the subtle flavoring and studio technique of classic soundtrack, experimental electronica, and techno music. Bataille Royale by Cex

Cex

Bataille Royale
Tigerbeat6

Nine years after his debut release on Tigerbeat6, the label's prodigal son Cex has finally returned home.  BATAILLE ROYALE, his tenth full-length, finds the incorrigible Baltimoron using the experience gained on his epic wanderings to crossbreed his hometown's native dance music with the wicked strain of IDM that he helped pioneer at the start of the millennium.  Having grown up partying to the anxious, overdriven sound of Baltimore club, Cex has little interest in trying to duplicate the work of the scene's titans-- like Rod Lee, DJ Technics, Dukeyman, and Scottie B-- instead opting to push the sound to its trippiest limits by incorporating his equally long-standing passion for the exquisite European electronica of Autechre, Vladislav Delay, Pan Sonic, and Basic Channel.  This highly original blend (which we like to call "Freedom Club") has captivated Baltimore's exploding underground music scene, where you can often find the Cexman presiding over dirty dance parties like some kind of gonzo Gandalf, playing marathon sets late into the night.  The first eight tracks are also available on two limited 12"s from Cex's own Must Finish imprint.

Sickboy

Tempor Mentalist Ep
Tigerbeat6

In a galaxy far far away, lies a planet called Milkplus. It's most known inhabitant is the 245 year youngster Sickboy Milkplus, who came to this earth by accident, loosing control of his space-cruiser and crashing on a rooftop. This crash and burn supposedly happened right where the Tigerbeat6 family was living and they decided to adopt this "Sickboy" to prepare him for special musical missions. From mash-ups, to breakcore and ambient, Sickboy is stepping through time and walks these musical fields like a trained soldier. But this time, TB6 has prepared him for one of his most secretive missions of all-time, resulting in a rough sounding electro-bass EP named the 'TEMPOR MENTALIST'  This 4 track EP sees the relation between Sickboy & Tigerbeat6 in a new daylight, bringing forward a new formula that Sickboy has been applying to his sound. Crafty heavy basslines this is probably the most DJ-Friendly release Sickboy will ever do. So this one is for all of you unearthly DJ's, that know when to push that special button in order to loose self-control on the dance floor. Yup, it's been tested and approved by N.A.S.A. in it's secret party lab. It's pretty safe. Still, they gave the warning to the public "WARNING: MAY RESULT IN TEMPOR MENTALIST BEHAVIOUR"

Kid 606

Shout At The Doner
Tigerbeat6

Kid606's most accomplished record to date, Shout at the Doener combines all his usual brash and exciting plunderphonic and sampledelic elements with a whole new world of uncharacteristically musical and danceable hooks and styles both fresh and timeless.   606 draws on some of his biggest electronic influences--LFO, AFX, Mike Ink, Green Velvet, Mouse on Mars, The Prodigy, Daft Punk, Shizuo, Mr. Oizo, Giorgio Moroder--to make bold and powerful songs about the decline of America, leaving California, broken hearts, drunken hook-ups, social phobias, soulless partying, economic downfall, gnarly basslines, ego worship, moving to Berlin, diva vocals, Baltimore club, obsessive-compulsive disorder, the best parts of horror movies, acid house, ADHD, shameless irony, ADHD, speed garage, megalomania, LSD, Satanism, and the ever-prevalent doener kebab (Europe's best late-night cuisine to consume on the way home from from the club).   This release is the Kid's first successful stab at what one might call "schizotronics"--a genre that combines the elements of many dance music styles without pretension, trying too hard to fit into any trend, or losing the joy and energy of the driving beats and basslines that make music so fun in the first place. It's intelligent dance music for people who thought they didn't like intelligent dance music.

Die Soundboy Die
Tigerbeat6

Kid606 returns to the fray with Die Soundboy Die, a new mini-album with nine original songs that devour and warp current musical trends like dubstep, bassline, ragga, techno, and rave (both old and new!).  While it stops short of being a concept album, Die Soundboy Die features dark and scary, bass-heavy jams that all celebrate life while thinking about death. Every track is different in style and tempo, but a clear musical ideology links them together. Tested on soundsystems and PAs worldwide, these songs have the low-end to make your ass shake and stomach rumble. This is Kid 606 showing mad respect to the dub and bass legends and current artists who have influenced him.  "... fantastic, pounding technojoy of the highest level. Absolutely dominated by pulsatile, growling basslines; there are obvious dubstep grooves here, but delivered at the restless, aggressive pace we've come to expect.... Kid606 has taken the signifiers of classic electronica from the past decade (bits of jump-up, techno, hardcore, and bassline all take the lead at various points) to create a miniature tour de force of dancefloor-fillers." --Diskant.net

2 Pitchfork features under his belt, Radar magazine feature running now and fresh from a national tour opening for Girl Talk and Dan Deacon!  Joe Williams, the rowdy 23-year old behind White Williams, got his start playing piano at a young age, getting scolded by his mean German piano teacher for screwing around with the pedals making his own sounds without ever practicing. At 15 he moved onto his first project drumming for a noisy screaming band whose first show was opening for Black Dice and the Rapture in 1999.  Playing in DIY venues exposed Joe Williams to a wild party lifestyle of fires, noise bands, art and performance.  He had a growing interest in electronic music and wanted to take the noisy, screaming band in another direction, incorporating more electronics, sampling, triggered drums and machines.  With no knowledge of studio recording or the basics of sound synthesis, he used the computer to recreate and evolve the sounds the band had been creating.  In 2001 he became close with Gregg Gillis, who had just started the Girl Talk project. Williams first electronic music project was called So Red -- a part of a tiny scene of Gregg Gillis, Andrew Strasser (creator of WW's album art), Frank Musarra (Hearts of Darknesses/TreyTold Em), and Luke Venezia (Drop the Lime). Together they played and booked shows and parties featuring a variety of electronic music artists. After two tours with Girl Talk, Williams' project started incorporating vocals and he became less interested...

Ink 808 expresses dDamage's love of electro-punk, noisy acid-trash cut-ups and broken breakbeats. The two brothers brand of melting-pot techno has been blowing minds since the turn of the century, most recently on the Planet-Mu releases Radio Ape and Pressure. On Ink 808 they're backed by a remix team featuring fellow French producers Krazybaldhead, Krikor, and Jean Nipon vs. a*.  Krazybaldhead has recorded for the Daft Punk-affiliated Ed-Banger Records and has worked with top talents on the French scene like Feadz (B-Pitch Control) and Paraone (TTC). He's currently working on another Ed-Banger project with American MC Tes (lex).   Krikor is one of the most exciting producers of the French "minimal techno" movement. In the past few years he's been responsible for over thirty releases and is now one of the main artists on the Karat Records roster alongside Chlo/ and Ark.   Jean Nipon vs a* on the other hand is just a sad, old wanker -- a talentless git, according to the band, who just happens to know the right people.   dDamage have also just completed work on a companion video featuring Doctor Agueev, Ape Robot, RA, and -- reportedly -- director David Lynch. More news on that soon.

Pretty Girls Make Raves is a 45-minute tribute to analog synths, overdriven vocals, Baltimore club and throbbing bass-heavy techno music. Anyone who has been to one of Kid606’s recent high-energy live performances has heard some of these tracks, all created specifically to keep the bassbins thumpin’ and the dancefloor moving. With a minimum of samples, these songs are densely packed with layer upon layer of jackin’ funked out sonics, fuzzy vocals, subtle edits and immense twisted buildups. True to the 4/4 techno rush made classic by artists like Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Daft Punk, Ark and Green Velvet but with the lyrical content and punk spirit of the Germs, Ministry and Black Flag, this is not future music or sci-fi obsessed electro in any way; this album is about fun, fun, and more fun.

Kid606 didn’t want to die without releasing this record. The twelve songs that comprise Resilience were recorded around the globe, from the isolated coldness of Stavenger, Norway, to the claustrophobic heat of Athens, Greece. Noticeable immediately is the undiluted rhythmic strength of the music. The sound is derived from the most primal elements of dancehall, dub, house and hip-hop but everything is tweaked just enough to avoid the formulaic complacence that plagues most instrumental electronica. Resilience will surprise many familiar with the almost schizophrenic range of Kid606’s output over the years, but rest assured, this is the Kid at his most uninhibited, creating in his natural element. Individually, each song has a unique identity and style but together they form a cohesive statement of love, depression, nostalgia, psychedelia, escapism and the contradictory nature of trying to be happy in a life without control. In his own words, “This is my favorite album because I had so much internal pressure and inspiration to write these songs, but no external pressure to make an album, worry about deadlines or fret over how they would be received. None of the songs on this record are about being naive or discovering things like my past releases, but all are about successfully transferring what I heard in my head into songs and then into an album I always wanted to make.”

Do You Want New Wave Or Do You Want The Soft Pink Truth? by Soft Pink Truth

Soft Pink Truth

Do You Want New Wave Or Do You Want The Soft Pink Truth?
Tigerbeat6

***This ten-track 32-minute album sees The Soft Pink Truth's Drew Daniel (one half of San Francisco duo Matmos) returning to his musical roots with a batch of sweetly nostalgic electronic disco covers of classic English punk rock and American hardcore. The beat is turned up loud, nasty guitar riffs come back as fizzly synthesizer zaps, tragedy returns as farce, and sacred truths are ruined.  Vickie Bennett (of People Like Us) dryly recites the lyrics to Crass's "Do They Owe Us A Living?" in a Flying Lizards-ish monotone on top of stark tech-house, while Drew himself drunkenly croons his way through a skiffle-y rendition of "Kitchen" (by L. Voag of The Homosexuals), complete with tea kettle screams and pots-and-pans percussion. Die Kreuzen's "In School" flies by in a caffeinated blur of micro-beat edits and relentless vocal snippery. There's a suitably menacing flesh-creep factor to the Rudimentary Peni medley of "Media Friend" and "Vampire State Building" (guest vocal by fashion icon Jeremy Scott), and the deep dub disco workout of The Swell Maps' "Real Shocks" heaves with monstrous sub-bass. Minor Threat's straight edge chestnut "Out of Step" gets a pop facelift with lushly multi-tracked harmony vocals from Herbert chanteuse Dani Siciliano complete with an En Vogue-ish doo wop breakdown and frantically chopped beats, while Blevin Blectum's whispery duet with Daniel on Teddy & the Frat Girls' "I Owe It To The Girls" gives the breakdancers fodder for heavy duty popping and locking. Though the wobbly, flanged vocals on the cover of Nervous...

Who Still Kill Sound? by Kid 606

Who Still Kill Sound?
Tigerbeat6

Who Still Kill Sound? (aka Vol. 2, more shiz, the illegal stuff, too hot for Ipecac, didn’t fit on KSB4SKU, more nails in the coffin, purging the soul, flogging a dead laptop, milking the cow dry, cleaning out Miguel’s hard drive, stuff that didn’t fit anywhere else, stuff that maybe doesn’t even fit here, stuff Tigerbeat6’s lawyers don’t want them releasing, but you know you want anyway.) Ingredients: two booming, thematically linked neorave breakbeat tracks; a live acid house basement party jam; two rinsing ragga bootleg jungle slammers; four booty bass bouncers (two with vocals from Sue Cie of Gold Chains); a crunked-up DJ Screw tribute; an unfinished Cex remix; a sweet emo monosynth song from the orthodontia years; a different version of a com.a remix, and two gabber blowouts for crushing sound systems while retaining danceability. Plus: artwork by Joel Trussell (the “Illness” video and the illustrations from KSB4SKU).  • Known worldwide for energetic, action-packed live set made up of material on this very disc  • 70 minutes dedicated to the deviated dancehall maniac found somewhere in all of us  • Many critically and commercially acclaimed releases on well respected labels like Ipecac, Mille Plateaux, Fatcat, and upcoming material on Souljazz, Wall of Sound and more  • No exports to Europe, UK, or Japan

Nocturnal Submissions by Zeigenbock Kopf

Zeigenbock Kopf

Nocturnal Submissions
Tigerbeat6

***Ultra-lo-fi, mysterious, and frighteningly addictive slut-punk duo ZEIGENBOCK KOPF (German brothers HANS and ULI BUNSCHLAPEN with aid from DETLEF) have left the flaccid and impotent dance scene of Berlin behind forever. Their beats pummel. Their bass is too loud and the highs are acrid. They came to San Francisco not to embrace the dance scene or the gay pride parades, but to destroy clubs and to hurt those who open themselves up to victimization by hurters.  Nocturnal Submissions follows their debut album, I.D.M., a severely warped and very un-PC collection of ass-destroying, sexy, electro gabber beats, rockabilly-ish guitars, organs, and dance-till-you-drop-dead vocal commandments. Fans of Men's Recovery Project, Whitehouse, Pink and Brown, Kid606, Abba, Miss Kitten, Electronicat, Merzbow, Coachwhips, Numbers, and Throbbing Gristle will be very pleased. Zeigenbock Kopf's is the sound of a spastically pulsating prostate, and they will tear you a new earhole while showing you the difference between your orifices, polymorphously perverse crunchy waveforms and harsh, minimal, early industrial booty with Krautcock vox.  Tracklist: 1. Sex With A Man 2. This Bass Is Too Loud 3. Bobby By My Side 4. End Of The Nacht 5. Hunter, Sleeper 6. Boom Car Boys 2 7. Death In Disguise 8. Fag Hag 9. Leather Gloves 10. ***This crazy newacidtechnohardcorebreakbeat action from hyperactive manboy Kid606's first single off the upcoming full length album Kill Sound Before Sound Kills You (due in fall 2003 on Ipecac) is a retro hardcore techno anthem for a period which still hasn't occurred yet: sweeping melodies and gnarling basslines combined with classic beats and all the sonic sci-fi twist and turns needed to keep you at the edge of your listening seat. "Ecstasy Motherfucker" is a 9-minute, relentless 4/4 160-BPM epic with more energy in it than most albums - thumping 909s mixed with Baltimore breaks and booty 808s with DSP rush breakdowns all climaxing in a bass-heavy speedcore gabber blowout.  The 12-inch includes an exclusive mix of "The Illness," while the CD comes through with three new Kid606 songs: "Evasion," the haunting, ambient "Circumvent" and "Maybe" featuring Kevin Blechdom on accordion.  Note: each format features different artwork, as the CD digipak case could not accurately recreate the 12-inch cover design.  * DJ-friendly 45 RPM 12-inch vinyl and CD with bonus tracks  * Full U.S. tour in August with DJ/rupture and Dwayne Sodahberk, plus festival and one-off dates in Europe, Canada, Australia and more  * Video for "The Illness" circulated online and submitted to all video networks  * Press via Hopper PR and full college radio mailout  12-inch track listing 1. The Illness 12" mix 2. The Illness extended dance mix 3. Ecstasy Motherfucker  CD track listing 1. The Illness 12" mix 2. Ecstasy...

***A collaboration between Kid606 and celebrated New Jersey hiphop trio Dälek, known for their constant touring, highly gifted lyricism, stream-of-consciousness rhyming, forward-thinking, bomb-squad rhythms, and Big Black-inspired clusters of noise. Alternately moving between languid arrangements reminiscent of vintage Amiri Baraka fronting free jazz ensembles to synth-driven glitch hop and Chain-Reaction-meets-digital-hardcore, Kid606's contributions evoke a sense of darkness and confrontation (in place of his customary in-your-face rhythmic assaults or clouds of blissful ambience). If the swirling sax-like sounds of the original "Ruin It, Ruin Them, Ruin Yourself, Then Ruin Me," and the faux-sitar processes don't defy your expectations, the gorgeous CD-only track, "Vague Recollection" will knock you flat with austere, distorted allusions to an overheated Hammond organ.

Minesweeper Suite by Dj Rupture

Dj Rupture

Minesweeper Suite
Tigerbeat6

***Born near Boston, based in Madrid, DJ /Rupture captured the world's imagination with Gold Teeth Thief, a "stunning, globe-trotting, three-turntable mix" that embodies "the spirit of the best bootleg mixes - bumping, brash, and without borders," according to Vibe's four-star review in their April 2002 issue. With similar hyperbolic raves in The Wire, Urb, and German magazine De:Bug (which named /Rupture "best DJ in the world"), it is close to impossible to ignore the powerfully syncretic musical imagination at work here, nurtured on the one hand by New York's legendary illbient scene and by notions of the African diaspora on the other. Minesweeper Suite is DJ /Rupture's first full-length statement and response to the world since it swallowed the delicious Gold Teeth Thief mix with a thump and a booty-shake, and uses the forum to tear some of hip hop's most familiar battle breaks into arguments that reconstruct "the missing links between Dead Prez and Middle Eastern dub selector Muslimgauze," to quote Vibe again. Mahmoud Fadi, Aphasic, Disc, Cul De Sac, Rotator, Cex, Gregory Whitehead, Bubba Sparxxx, Kid6Ø6, J-Boogie, DAT Politics, Borbetomagus, Alliyah, DJ Scud, So Takahashi and Donna Summer all find a home in DJ /Rupture's realm, where squalls of noise and dub concrète are the sand in his mixer, scouring away the listener's previous associations with music they thought they knew, forcing them to confront cultural differences in a manner that neither essentializes nor orientalizes, but honors them within a deeply rooted, humanistic vision. Minesweeper Suite extends DJ...
