Continuing Where The Beatles Left Off by Gloop Nox And The Stik People

Gloop Nox And The Stik People

Continuing Where The Beatles Left Off
Trubee

***After decades of crawling through life's vicissitudes, JOHN TRUBEE and JIM NEVIUS reformed GLOOP NOX AND THE STIK PEOPLE in 2011 to record their songs just for the fun of it. The band got its start in 1973 in central New Jersey—where the members were in high school— playing music that could be described as progressive rock leavened with juvenile humor. Disintegrating the band after graduation, Trubee and Nevius continued to play together in bands like ZYGOTE (circa 1976) NS NEIGHBORS (early '80s). Additional members went on to play with HOLLY AND THE ITALIANS, MARSHALL CRENSHAW, and OUR DAUGHTERS WEDDING among others.

*** "There are two distinctly different groups of musicians on this record—one band in Los Angeles, another band in San Francisco. They are all one, organic whole THE UGLY JANITORS OF AMERICA. I invented this band in 1983 in North Hollywood, California to perform and record my music. Any and all musicians I have conscripted since then are all part of the same organic, whole band and party of my plan to bring my music—made on nothing but my ideas, shoestring, and some duct tape—to the world. Our music reflects all the joy, madness, passion, sorrow, agony and excitement in life which is often so difficult to directly express. Music is our greates expressive outlet for all the joys and madness and sorrows and passions in life."—John Trubee
