Their recordings, particularly on Secret Center Records, are noted for a comically lo-fi sound, sometimes described as "listening with a pillow over your head.”The Four Eyes are fronted by diamond-in-the-rough-crooner Joel Goulet and backed by the fact-based and austere rhythm section of drummer Jay Baker and bass-machine player Dave Ninja.
