***50th Anniversary Edition of this touchstone of Aussie Rock n Roll. This 1973 LP should need no introduction. Just in case it does, it's simply one of the finest albums to ever come out of Australia. COLOURED BALLS are the godfathers of Aussie punk, hard rock, psychedelic boogie, etc. They played too many different styles to be just any one thing. Lobby, Bobsie, Trevor, and Janis created something very special with this album and it sounds as fresh and vital as the date it was originally released. This pressing has been painstakingly sourced directly from the 1973 quarter inch mix-down master tapes and sounds incredible. This has been an entirely analog production chain and hasn't been touched by a computer at any stage of the process. Hear Coloured Balls as nature intended. Every copy includes bonus poster!

***Available again for the first time in 51 years. This banger has been in our DJ box for many years. First issued by our all-time favorite label, President Records in 1972, this was THINGS FALL APART's one and only release. Contrary to speculation, The Equals nor Eddy Grant had anything to do with this record despite it sounding very much like The Equals circa "Stand Up And Be Counted." Both songs were written and sang by RALPH ADU. Mind the fuzz! Remastered by SEAN M. LENNONstraight from the original master tapes from the President Records archive. Edition of 200 copies on black vinyl.

***"This is our second LP of John Du Cann’s recordings from the '76-‘77 era. This time around John handles all guitar and bass duties while his ATOMIC ROOSTER / DAEMON / BULLET / HARD STUFF cohort, PAUL HAMMOND, is on drums. This album should definitely be seen as a companion to his "The World's Not Big Enough" LP, recorded in 1977, that finally saw the light of day on vinyl on our label in 2021. These tracks are literally the bonus tunes that originally appeared on the long out of of print and rare 1999 CD version of "The World's Not Big Enough". These songs were sourced directly from John Du Cann's personal tapes and acetates. Two of the tunes, "Moody Child" and "I Want To Be Alone" were re-recorded by DU CANN in 1980 when Atomic Rooster reunited for their fantastic self-titled album. The songs were re-titled, "Don't Lose Your Mind" and I Can't Stand It," respectively. ALL TRACKS PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED ON VINYL."

Bye Bye Bad Days
Just Add Water

***"The second and final installment in our HECTOR reissue campaign. After their stunning debut failed to chart, surely the public would picked up on the even catchier 1974 follow-up, "Bye Bye Bad Days," a song for the COVID era we now inhabit if ever there was one. Nope. Never fear, we're doing what we always do, shining a light on an overlooked gem that deserves heard again. HECTOR came and went and left us two utterly perfect singles, and for that, we forever grateful. Remastered with a huge sonic improvement over the original 1974 pressing which was very noisy."

***"It's a dream to release not one, but both iconic singles by Junkshop glam titans HECTOR. First up is their debut from '73, "Wired Up." In a perfect world, this would have topped the charts and The Osmonds would have struggling to make ends meet. Alas, it is a well known fact that quality cannot be shoved down the public's throat. In spite of loads of coverage in the teen mags and even TV appearances—fame and fortune were not in the cards for Hector. "Wired Up" goes for the jugular from the get-go with that throbbing single note riff pulverizing your senses. How can a song this incredibly catchy not be a smash? Politics, and the fickle whims of the BBC, who never gave the record a chance. See Trevor White's masterpiece "Crazy Kids" for another sterling example that the world isn't fair. Here it is available again for the first time since 1973 in it's original format, our fave, the almighty 7" 45 rpm single. Enjoy, true believers. Remastered and sounding better than the original 1973 pressing which was honestly noisy and not perfect."

The World's Not Big Enough by Du Cann, John

Du Cann, John

The World's Not Big Enough
Just Add Water

***This album was recorded in 1977 and produced by Status Quo’s Francis Rossi. Shockingly, this album has never been released on vinyl until now. It originally came out on CD in 1992 and is now long out of print and even that goes for good coin. John Du Cann’s stellar career included freakbeat heroes The Attack (“Magic In The Air”), psych/prog legends Andromeda, and the group he’s best known for, Atomic Rooster. Du Cann wrote their their #4 hit single “Devil’s Answer.” A couple of years later he was in Daemon, later renamed Bullet, then Hard Stuff. In 1974 he was even a temporary guitarist for a Thin Lizzy German tour. In 1977, he was signed to the same management company as Status Quo, who paired him with Quo leader, Francis Rossi. The resulting album, “The World’s Not Big Enough” included Rossi on guitar, Andy Bown (The Herd, Judas Jump, Status Quo) on keyboards, Pete Kircher (Honeybus, Status Quo, Liverpool Express) on drums, and John McCoy (Ian Gillian, Tyla Gang, U.K. Subs) on bass. Basically, this is Du Cann backed by Status Quo at their Belt Buckle Boogie peak. A few songs from this album appeared on killer late 70s Punxploitation singles “Throw Him Jail,” “Don’t Be A Dummy” (a UK Top 40 hit!), and “Where’s The Show.” This album has been described as “Quo mixed with the Sex Pistols,” and we can’t disagree with that assessment.

***It goes without saying that we are devoted disciples of JESSE HECTOR. We already have both HELTER SKELTER and HAMMERSMITH GORILLAS in our catalog. This album gathers Jesse Hector wild '90s recordings, which were an unbelievable return to form after a decade away from the music biz. Jesse hadn’t lost a step and was backed most-ably by the gents in both THE SOUND and later THE GATECRASHERS. Jesse has graciously offered us three unreleased songs that have never appeared anywhere before. Hail Rock n Roll! Hail Jesse Hector!

A Little Bit Of Urban Rock by Third World War

Third World War

A Little Bit Of Urban Rock
Just Add Water

***This slice of West London AGGRO is back in print for the first time since 1972! Remastered from the original tapes. We are thrilled to reissue one of our all-time favorite singles. It really should have been a double A-side. TERRY STAMP and JIM AVERY (ex-THE ATTACK, THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN) hold the distinction of forming probably the UK's first, for real, “aggro” band. THIRD WORLD WAR Formed in London at the turn of the '70s, Third World War released two proto-punk albums (Fly Records and Track Records) in the 1971 & 1972 respectively. Third World War featured an aggression unheard of at that time. With Terry Stamp’s explosive vocals, lyrics, chopper guitar style and Jim Avery’s West London, hardnut, two-fisted, riff and chord approach proved unbeatable (even forty plus years on). Their socio-political agenda and proto-punk guitar style prefigured the emergence of UK “working-class” punk bands by some five years. "Working Class Man" features The Rolling Stones' horn section with BOBBY KEYS and JIM PRICE.

Twenty Rough Rotters 1980-1989 - The Bomb Shelter Tapes
Just Add Water

***"Bonkers double album by former THIRD WORLD WAR singer/chopper guitarist, TERRY STAMP, clocking in at 80 minutes with 20 tracks that have never been released on vinyl before. Recorded between 1980-1989 in Terry's converted cellar/bomb shelter. Raw, rough, and honest. Real working class music for working class people. The only way to hear any of these tracks previously was to buy a self-released cassette or CD directly from Terry at one of his solo shows over the past 40 years. There is 'underrated' and then there is Terry Stamp. He’s one of the finest songwriters of the past fifty years, who is virtually unknown except to dedicated Third World War fans. Being able to bring this double LP set to you and turn you on to these incredible tunes is what it’s all about for us. This is literally just a small fraction of Terry's immense output, but this is perfect place to start." Edition of 400 copies on black vinyl.

***"We’re doing further exploration into LOBBY LOYDE’s recorded legacy. This time, we're reissuing the final single by THE WILD CHERRIES. This tough to find single has been out of print for nearly 50 years, and was originally released on Havoc Records in November 1971, a mere four months before Lobby formed COLOURED BALLS. There were several different lineups of The Wild Cherries from 1967 to 1971, but the final short-lived configuration with Lobby along with drummer JOHNNY DICK (AZTECS, MAX MERRITT AND THE METEORS) and bassist TEDDY TOI (Aztecs, Max Meritt and The Meteors) was the only one fronted by Lobby. He was only on lead guitar in the earlier iterations of the group. BILLY THORPE and GIL MATTHEWS from The Aztecs help out on the A-side. Gil also produced and engineered this single. 100% analog start to finish and sourced from the original master tapes. For those keeping score, this is our 7th Lobby Loyde-related release!" Rock Your Arse Off! Live At Festival Hall 10 Nov. '72
Just Add Water

***Stunning quality live recording documenting COLOURED BALLS tearing the roof off Melbourne's venerable Festival Hall - available on vinyl for the first time! This gig was recorded by Armstrong's Studio and engineered by JOHN SAYERS, who also did their Ball Power LP. This album has the entire 3-song, 30 minute set they played that night, including the only known recording of "GOD." with vocals! LOBBY LOYDE wryly introduces "GOD" with, "This is the first movement from an electronic symphony called 'The First Movement of GOD'. It may not be your thing, but can't win 'em all." Their set was shortened due to them playing last on the bill and Festival Hall not exactly being a late-night sort of place. The Festival Hall gig was a farewell show for headliners Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs, who were to jetting off to London the following day in search of even bigger recognition having already completely conquered their native Australia. Mastered from the original tape by Aztecs drummer and producer/engineer extraordinaire, GIL MATTHEWS. Analog start to finish. Liner notes by leading Australian Rock authority, IAN McFARLANE. Hammersmith Gorillas

Why Wait Until Tomorrow 1974-1981
Just Add Water

***BACK IN STOCK!!! This is it, the biggest release in the history of Just Add Water Records, our first double album! Literally everything HAMMERSMITH GORILLAS ever recorded that is not on their classic Message To The World LP. 26 tracks total—clocking in at a whopping 84 minutes! Includes all 6 of their singles, 7 outtakes never before available on vinyl, 1 aborted single, plus 6 unreleased live songs recorded in early ‘77, 3 of which were never recorded in a studio. All but two of the tracks are from the master tapes. Those two masters are missing. If that wasn’t enough, there are also new liner notes/new interviews with JESSE HECTOR and GARY ANDERSON by PHIL KING, plus unpublished photos!  THE HAMMERSMITH GORILLAS are one of the great UK "should-have-been" groups of the 1970s. Chalk it up to being ahead of their time, bad luck, and/or bad management. Both singer/guitarist JESSE HECTOR and bassist ALAN BUTLER had already been in what was arguably Britain's first punk group CRUSHED BUTLER, formed in 1969. Drummer, GARY ANDERSON, was the last piece of the puzzle, but world wasn't ready for the lads then, and still wasn't ready for them nearly ten years later as Punk exploded across the country and up the charts. Bizarre management tactics such as not having the group do any live gigs the first two years of their existence didn't help matters. The music speaks for itself on this massive two album set and HAMMERSMITH GORILLAS are more...

Heavy Metal Kid / Around And Around by Coloured Balls

Coloured Balls

Heavy Metal Kid / Around And Around
Just Add Water

***This is a first time ever unique pairing of “Heavy Metal Kid” b/w “Around And Around” (previously unreleased on vinyl). Once again, EMI Australia completely dropped the ball when they didn’t issue the scorching “Heavy Metal Kid” as a teaser single for the brilliant album of the same name, released in October ‘74. By that time, EMI was seemingly losing interest in the group since The ‘Balls weren’t churning out pop hits. They were also being demonized by the conservative press for violence, both real and imagined, at their gigs. “Around And Around” dates from their final recording session from early ‘75 and has never been released on vinyl before. This is, hands down, COLOURED BALLS’ most soulful track. It’s heavily influenced by the Muscle Shoals sound. If you can imagine—hink Etta James “I’d Rather Go Blind” era with a wah-wah and even a talk box for added effect given the Coloured Balls treatment. Cover is printed with a special metallic silver ink, these mock-ups don't do it proper justice!

***THIRD WORLD WAR vocalist/chopper guitarist TERRY STAMP’s criminally obscure and exceptionally brilliant debut solo album is back in print for the first time since 1975. Recorded in October 1974, about 15 months after Third World War finally called it a day. On Fatsticks, Terry is backed by a killer crew of ringers consisting of his old TWW cohort, bassist JIM AVERY (ex-THE ATTACK, THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN), in addition to OLLIE HALSALL (TIMEBOX, PATTO, BOXER), MIKE MORAN (DAVID BOWIE) and the latter-day T. REX rhythm section with HERBIE FLOWERS (he of "Walk On The Wild Side" bass line fame) and TONY NEWMAN (SOUNDS INCORPORATED). This album didn't have much of a chance upon its original release in July 1975: no promotion, no label support, and Terry had already bailed the UK for the greener pastures of America by the time it was released. This album is another case of Just Add Water Records having the chance to right history's wrongs by shining a light on a very deserving release that was literally ignored upon its initial release. We also changed the running order, because the original one is baffling at best and Terry didn't agree with it. It flows much better now.   Opening track, "Itchy Feet", wasn't even supposed to end up on the finished album as it was deemed a bit too raw for the label's taste. It was eventually tucked away as the last track on the original album. What you are hearing is literally a live run-through...

***BACK IN STOCK!!!  Their first recordings! Before Ball Power (1973). Before Heavy Metal Kid (1974). Proto Punk / Boogie / Blues / Progressive / Psych / '50s Rock 'n Roll / Pure Pop that still cannot be pigeonholed. Back in print for the first time in over 40 years. After vocalist/lead guitarist LOBBY LOYDE had blazed a trail in THE PURPLE HEARTS, WILD CHERRIES, and THE AZTECS, he formed COLOURED BALLS and Australian rock 'n roll has never been the same. Recorded in late October/early November ‘72, but not issued until May ‘76. Shortly after it was recorded in ‘72, their manager left their label, Havoc Records, and took Coloured Balls with him. He then secured them a deal with EMI Records who were offered the chance to release what became The First Supper Last or Scenes We Didn't Get To See. It was originally slated to be titled Rock Your Arse Off!. EMI declined, saying the recordings were too raw and that there were too many different musical styles to market—which is, of course, two of the band’s greatest strengths. The album was finally released in ‘76 when Lobby signed a new solo record deal with Rainbird Records to issue his Obsecration album, the tapes for First Supper Last were also dusted off for release. Sadly, Rainbird Records folded soon after it was issued, which is why original copies can fetch $400+. It’s been out of print ever since, until now. Includes detailed liners by IAN MCFARLANE...

Eventually, they morphed into the more well-known HAMMERSMITH GORILLAS with the addition of Alan Butler, who was Crushed Butler's original bassist. Despite being recorded in 1971, the original "I Need You" b/w "Goodbye Baby" single was not released until 1977 during the height of UK punk by Sticky Records, a subsidiary of President Records. Apparently, the world wasn't quite ready for this raw slice of proto-punk/glam in 1971, or even 1977 for that matter. Our reissue includes a recently unearthed, unreleased bonus track of the original version of "I Live In Style In Maida Vale." Recorded in 1976 at the same sessions as his godhead "Crazy Kids" single, "Understood" was originally pegged to be the b-side of "Crazy Kids." It was deemed "too good" to be relegated to mere B-side status. It was then decided that "Understood" was to be Trev's follow-up to his soon-to-be-a-hit record, "Crazy Kids" released in July 1976. When "Crazy Kids" failed to become the massive smash that it obviously deserved to be, "Understood" ended up going unreleased until now. Trev's patented wall of guitars is front and center of this instant ear worm, not to mention loaded with pitch perfect harmonies. As with "Crazy Kids", MARTIN GORDON (Sparks, RADIO STARS) is on bass and CHRIS TOWNSON (Jook, Radio Stars, JOHN'S CHILDREN) is on drums.
