***Eat The Rich is an eclectic intersection of two serial collaborators: Giffoni (No Fun Fest / No Fun Productions) continues to explore new dimensions in sound, primarily using modular / synths (with recent full lengths on Ideologic Organ and Room40), paired here with the instinctually abstract percussion of Corsano (known from working with everyone from Bill Orcutt to Richard Bishop to Bjork but with literally 100's of appearances under his belt since the turn of the century). Produced by David Scott Stone & Giffoni, mastered by Lasse Marhaug.

Overjoyed to announce the release of this monumental record featuring two very different sides of the free-improv coin. This intergenerational, wide-minded split LP blurs the hedges of national borders and the traditions of composition, marking a niche interzone inhabited solely by the uncles of punk and their experimental stepchildren. Canadian noise pioneers, Nihilist Spasm Band, deliver a ripping side-long opus rife with their singular blend of hi-octane kazoo, invented instruments and propulsive, arrhythmic drumming. This deep cut is likely to be the final NSB recording released featuring the late great vocalist Bill Exley, who passed away in 2025 after performing as a Nihilist for exactly 60 years. On the flipside, K/S/R screw the tempo down to their patented desert crawl pulse and lock the door behind them. Departing from the interstellar density of the trio’s 2025 Already in Heaven LP, the side-long treatise of An American Sonnet brandishes the group’s minimalist approach heard during recent performances across the United States. A plein air structure of ascetic interplay locates K/S/R carving sonic terrane from the space between notes, where each gesture is ascertained both as an individual voice and a building block of the collective. 180-gram mixed color vinyl, edition of 245. Co-released with Physical.

***Portland circa late 2000’s: The Cysts churn out a couple of scathing 7”s and cassettes, manage to tour the west coast twice through a series of living rooms, storage units and the occasional venue and successfully controlled the chaos long enough to record a proper LP, but as happens all too often in punk, it ended up not making it to the press in that moment. Highly RIYL: Born Against or Hail Mary, and featuring members from other Portland staples such as Lithics and Alarmist (and a slew of solo noise discographies), ‘Turn It Up Or Throw It Away / S.I.S.T.S’ is indeed short, fast & loud, as put by Matt Korvette (Yellow Green Red), “An art-damaged, but also just damage-damaged, hardcore band rescued from the sands of time”. ***LA musique concreté / drone duo Sobbing Honey (Grant Capes & Mike Meanstreetz) meet Anna Homler—a serial collaborator who’s eclectic and playful contribution to experimental music can be, in recorded form, traced back at a fever pitch to her 1985 LP with Steve Moshier, Breadwoman (reissued by Rvng Intl. In 2016). Recorded one fine day at Seahorse Sound, the trio launched into a shifting weave of feral chants, haunting dirges, and clattering percussion. Synth pads and skewed tape loops led by Homler’s unearthly voice merge to sounds fit for lovers of both organic and electronic music.

***A new LP from Smegma (now in their 52nd year!)—featuring Ju Suk Reet Meate, Oblivia, Ace Farren Ford, Dennis Duck, Aaron Dilloway, John Wiese, Tom Recchion, Rick Potts and more. The record celebrates the inevitable portions of joyous cacophony from the modern era of the group (circa 2008 - 2024), while also including a piece dating clear back to November 1973, from the day the group landed on the name Smegma. Incorporating imagery from their 2023 induction to the Oregon Music Hall of Fame and a cover drawing from Ju Suk, the record also features a variety of collages from Ace (who unfortunately passed away in December 2023), throughout the layout itself but also with the inclusion of a unique xerox of collage work in each copy of the record.

***K/S/R (Ben Kujawski, Abigail Smith & Justin Rhody) have been performing and recording together since 2022. Recorded by the band themselves during a full week of day-long sessions—violin, percussion, lap steel, accordion, flute, guitar, harmonica, and rhodes piano were each stretched, damaged & made to sing through various extended techniques. The trio's non-concentric approach to collective improvisation mirrors the dark harmonic density and symbiotic formal structures of the cosmos. Industrial work zones are also a major inspiration. K/S/R are the co-founders No Name Cinema (an underground microcinema in Santa Fe New Mexico). The trio has previously performed and/or lectured at ATA Gallery (San Francisco), Highlands University (Las Vegas), University of New Mexico (Albuquerque), Shapeshifters (Oakland), the Firehouse (Joshua Tree), and the Light Matter Experimental Festival (Alfred University, NY). Their music has been featured on the legendary Coast to Coast AM radio program and experimental/jazz-focused community radio shows across three continents. The group will be touring in Northeast and Southwest USA (November 2025) and in the UK (England & Scotland), April 2026. Already In Heaven will be followed by a split LP with Nihilist Spasm Band (also co-released by Physical & Gilgongo Records) in March 2026. Edition of 100 copies.

***A timeless collection of heartfelt and abstract pop, as obscured through the lenses of Robert Wyatt, Legendary Pink Dots and an amalgamation of aspects from the Flying Nun catalog. As summarized from the label, previously: “Although he has lived in Berlin for most of the past decade, Paul Arambula has always been close-by on the localized level of Gilgongo Records. Living in Arizona, it would have been impossible to not find Paul: From his 'legendary if you caught them as the opener for your band’s Phoenix tour date's group The Chandails (who had a raw pop sound that could draw comparisons to both The Clean and Velvet Underground, to eclectic post-punk trios Vegetable (who had a 7” on the label clear back in 2010) and Mall, as permanent satellite member of the band Soft Shoulder. Paul’s solo output has ranged from primitive guitar (think no-wave blues) to large ensemble noise-assault poetry, with his current approach to orchestrated and dynamic songwriting yielding material that feels both raw and highly intricate / orchestrated." Still’s Keep follows 2021’s Towantowanto (on Germany’s Musikii), 2020’s Submarine & Walk Thru This World With Me, a 7” & CD set, also on Gilgongo) and appearances on 3 incredible compilations on Kashual Plastik and in that time has performed throughout Europe, 2022’s KRAAK Fest and held the album release for Still’s Keep in December 2024 at Blank Forms in NYC. ***"Hanging by a Fan Over Wet Cement is the music of listening after listening, when water runs relative to the sound of your own footsteps, and you lean over the resonating chamber of a trashcan like it’s a campfire, then fill it with wheezy laughter. Only, the steel mesh of Hair Clinic / Max Nordile’s field microphone is all mangled and bludgeoned, and the field extends into his home garage. The same contact-foraging quality of attention goes into the beginner’s brain improvisations, whether on saxophone or skipping stones. And the mixing and editing is in large part a visual process, with Nordile monitoring slips of time and intention for the contours of song. It’s a prickly and startling listen, influenced by sound art, alive with noise. Nordile, a member of Debt Rag and Shelter Music, among other groups in Olympia, WA, traces the album’s inspiration back to the duet of birdsong and idling garbage truck, and named it for the language artifact of a dream. The cover shows degraded spiral forms in Scottish petroglyphs. Hanging by a Fan Over Wet Cement is creative, personal music to mirror the distorted balance of consensus reality."—Sam Lefebvre

***Intended to sync up with a return to all of our our normal routines, It's All A Small World After resists the temptation to step away from remarking on the mundane (accidentally collecting cardboard, cutting your hand on plastic, the dog's favorite toys, avoiding potential muggings, keeping the floor clean and the 7th and 8th editions of the groups "Repeat" tracks). Recorded alongside March 2023's Smile Building's Exit, the genres again are simultaneously vague yet synonymous with the group, but with influences that can be easy to pin when the right listener puts the record on. This is where the write-up tries to not reference specific groups (The Fall? Scissor Girls? etc), and instead says the LP pays homage to a hypothetical cross-pollination of the entire Fast Product catalog. ***Cheryl E. Leonard builds and plays electroacoustic instruments made out of natural materials such as bones, driftwood, shells, seaweed, feathers, and stones. Jon Leidecker (aka 'Wobbly') responds to the sounds of her creations with synthesized animal voices driven by machine listening. The inaugural collaboration of these two veterans of the San Francisco Bay Area electronic music scene can be heard on the album Multiple Park, a collection of works assembled from both studio and outdoor performances, radio broadcasts and field recordings, as well as outright hallucinations — an album which evokes an abstract yet literal world that exists in the space between city life and utter wilderness. Material for the album’s centerpiece was recorded in three California parks, ranging from deeply urban to abandoned to entirely wild. The result is one “Multiple Park,” filled with noises simultaneously abstract yet bound to the physical events that generated them. Riding a line between a secret history of electronic music that aspires to birdsong, and those dedicated to the preservation of vanishing biophonies, Multiple Park is a visceral meditation on the sounds of “the outdoors,” and how those sounds are changed and framed by our technologically accelerating lives. Cheryl E. Leonard has been composing and improvising with materials from the natural world since the late 1990s. Her performance and recorded history includes many collaborations - notably with Euphotic (Tom Djll & Bryan Day), Thomas Carnacki, Big City Orchestra, and Phillip Greenlief. Jon Leidecker has been creating experimental work since 1987: both solo and...

***Strega Beata is the third fulll-ength album from SAM AN's dark electronic, genre-bridging solo project under the semi-notorious moniker LANA DEL RABIES. After a brief hiatus, this record is her first full-length release since the gothic, industrial noise of 2018's Shadow World (on Deathbomb Arc). Strega Beata, which loosely translates to "Blessed Witch," is an apocalyptic myth told through dense, textural compositions pulling from the vast corners of dark genre music. The title's meaning is appropriate for the existential, cathartic, and otherworldly themes explored. The record is told through the evolving perspective of a cryptic and obscure "Mother" creator figure, specifically echoing the mother and crone goddess archetypes. This figure is vocalized through LDR's eerie harmonies, spoken words, pleading howls, and frenetic screams aimed towards another archetype, the chosen one. These vocalizations sometimes hover above trip-hop low tempos and unnerving atmospheres ("Mourning," "Hallowed is the Earth"), sink through vintage horror movie darkwave synths ("Master," "Apocalypse Fatigue"), weave through art metal distortions and relentless drone bass tones (Mother), or blast through unconventional industrial rhythms ("Prayers of Consequence," "A Plague").

Volumes 3 and 4 emerged in 1999, packaged in a boxset with the previous volumes. The Blorp Esette Gazette first appeared with Volume 1 & 2 in 2013. ***CCTK Music combines Gabriella Isaac's exploitative use of laptop as feedback loop / sound source / physical device and James Fella's electro-acoustic / tape as instrument approach. The duo incorporates each other's material in real time (on Side A), cutting the content onto 6 singles-sided reference lacquers. The lacquers were used to assemble a collage in a performance setting in late 2019, and again in a studio setting for Side B. ***Max Nordile (Preening, Violence Creeps, Uzi Rash, et al.) tosses Gilgongo 30 minutes of trudging, free-form sprawl that draws unassuming and collateral reference points (in the label’s mind) to a highly regarded catalog of outsiders that spans decades (Jandek, Little Howlin’ Wolf, Nihilist Spasm Band). It’s an honor to challenge any listener, with Building a Better Void. “Max Nordile has a patented collage method. In this day, I almost hate to say it’s perhaps a distinctly American sound, like squawks from the rubber room. Although, this is sharply not a conversation between "Mattie" and "Hattie" concerning the "Wooly Bully" and the desirability of developing dancing skills (with no attempt made to synthesize these divergent topics). What you’re listening to is a tangled mass, a phone call from a scribbled area code, herking and jerking its way off the map. It’s catchy, it’s bent. After it said so much to me, I returned to the record, and then again and again. “Thanks so much,” I said to it, like it is said in the divine hand of “Diligent Pores.” And once more I’m gripped into powerful clang at the intersection of joy, mystery & abrasion. It is mercurial; an icy slip wherein the listener is absolutely unable to get the balance or footing to stand upright for all of thirty minutes. ***While it’s relatively easy to refer to SANDY EWEN's use of guitar as unconventional or abstract, the true nature of her work is much more exploratory in nature. Without relying on the use of effects or looping, the instrument itself functions as a canvas for Ewen’s ever-evolving arsenal of objects and ever-expanding techniques. Ewen has collaborated and performed with everyone from Henry Kaiser to Roscoe Mitchell, from Jaap Blonk to Lydia Lunch, from Keith Rowe to Tamio Shiraishi, from Damon Smith to Id M Theft Able, from To Carter to Weasel Walter, the list feels endless. ***Aerosol Can Stand finds JAMES FELLA's long running “post-punk / no-wave / junk-kraut” group in a rare moment of pop sensibility (subject to objection and critique). Recorded spur-of-the-moment during practice, these two songs are a snapshot of Soft Shoulder as a trio (with JOSH RODRIGUEZ and Moone Records’ CALEB DAILEY) in late 2019. However, the same variety of haphazard approaches and bedroom-style recording methods which Fella is accustomed to using when processing songs alone were utilized here with the full band. Everything captured on the second take: microphones taped to broken pieces of drum kit hardware and whatever else was sitting around on the floor, overblown overdubs done with a faulty reverb unit, synth later dropped in as an afterthought directly before a maniacal full-volume mix-down in the same rehearsal space later that week. ***The work of JOHN COLLINS MCCORMICK straddles sculpture and music by using sound as material to highlight the ability of sound to change scale through visual and sonic rhythms and textures. What is heard is generated by small objects, percussion and electronics—interactions occurring in the realm of art and noise: a McCormick performance may consist of repurposed motors, clutter jostling on exposed speakers or something familiar from your office rolling across floor in an unfamiliar way. Ad For Nails functions as a sort of audio diary, finding these types of sounds woven between field recordings, captured conversation and old-fashioned drum kit. ***Recorded in mid-April 2011, a single 1 hour and 16 minute long improvised piece ranging from free-form / non-music to harsh noise and drone, presented in it’s original raw form, with no edits made to the waves of electronics, voice and saxophone which were used to blindly craft an entity that existed in gradual flux, consisting of small scattered electroacoustic elements folding over on themselves until succumbing to a wall of scathing yet harmonious sound, volatile ambiance spouting off jagged shrapnel, eventually calming into a steady low-end migration and ultimately dispersing at the end of it’s descent. No run-on sentence describing it can possibly compete with the insatiable appetite exercised by the tools themselves during the recording of this movement, a process which was the product of a momentary black-hole in Tempe, AZ and specifically in the main operating room of Gilgongo Records, where the owner and operator could have feasibly been lost for an indefinable amount of time, as it’s very easy to lose control in certain situations, after all.

***40 minutes of junk-kraut offered as two side-long tracks from Arizona’s Soft Shoulder. “Warbled Practice” catches the group as a trio: working on the basic structure of a new song in a Tempe warehouse, recorded direct to malfunctioning cassette deck. “Large Group in Close Quarters” was recorded live December 2016: a one-time 8-piece line-up playing a scattered tape-noise, reed-squeal, triple-bass rendition of the same song (which had already arrived at home as a single sided test press) featuring members of Warm Climate, Sleep Money, Sunn Trio, Humiliation, Chandails and Waytansea Point.

***Inactive Parts (as a release) follows a recent series of self-issued long-format CDs and cassette on Torn Light, but was originally a December 2014 installation at The Trunk Space in Phoenix, AZ consisting of paintings, screen printed Xerox pieces, lathe cut 7" records and two sets of two single-sided acetate LPs which used for a sound installation that could also function has "instruments" for a live performance. Two performances occurred: 12/05/14 (the opening reception, duration: 4 hours), 12/20/14 (for the Gilgongo Records 10 year anniversary event with Sissy Spacek, Stephen Steinbrink, Cherie Cherie and Maniac Cop (Mallevs), duration: approx. 30 minutes). Inactive Parts originally appeared as “New Material," an hour long piece which aired on Ricardo Wang’s “What’s This Called?” on KPSU in Portland, OR in August 2014. The content of that program, the acetate version and this final edition are all slightly different from one another. RIYL: Nurse With Wound, John Cage, Total, Xenakis. LP (edition of 450) includes three prints and two postcards from the installation, CD/digital edition includes "Inactive Portion," a 7" lathe which was part of the installation as well.

SISSY SPACEK is the long running project of JOHN WIESE and CORYDON RONNAU. On Dasg, their second release for Gilgongo following the Fortune b/w The Eyes Of Men 7", they are joined by Norway's LASSE MARHAUG (JAZKAMER) and WILL STRANGELAND (TEARIST, SILVER DAGGERS). 41 tracks of scathing sound, cautiously partitioned into short bursts of truly obliterated hardcore, redefining "raw punk", and an even more destructive force than the already harsh and damaged tone of recent output. "The same vein" in a sense, but ruptured and bleeding out, heavily.

On Xmas day in 1999, the channels of the noise canon received a new entry into its ranks by the name of SISSY SPACEK. 15 years later, the outfit, held together by core members JOHN WIESE and CHARLIE MUMMA, has left a littered trail of damaged recordings and countless performances in its wake. Known for it’s cult output and conceptual performances—each idea folding over the last to create havoc in the way that most would care to avoid, Sissy Spacek takes this all head on. Their newest 7” shows the band exploring song-based material (see also their live shows), employing it’s newest member SARA TAYLOR to provide vocal accompaniment to their special brand of furious destruction. To those familiar with their previous works on PPM, Chondritic Sound, Gilgongo or Wiese’s own Helicopter imprint, one will instantly welcome their signature hybrid of grindcore blasts and avant-garde sensibility and remain captured by the band’s semblance of leftfield song writing.
